We have the place from 2-10 (that's just what they offered) but the ceremony and when people start coming won't be until 4 or 5. 15-20 minutes there, cocktail hour, food, rest of the evening. I was thinking open bar from end of ceremony through say 2 hours after dinner so maybe only hour plus of cash bar. The place has their own bar with local Colorado drafts and then standard liquor so we can't bring our on stuff unfortunately, but Cuervo is a possibility!

Open bar that shit for x amount of dollars and then everyone else can pony up.

We were 18 when the wife and I got married, no alcohol :( we were poor as hell so didn't have a big reception. We said we were going to do something big for our 10 year anniversary, ended up being in korea for that one. Our 15 year I was getting ready to leave for California a couple of days later so we didn't do anything for that one either. So we decided to do something big for our 20 year anniversary, I was in korea again (she did come out 2 days later though). 21 year anniversary and I'm in Iraq. Maybe we'll get something for our 25 year anniversary, I'm sure I'll be somewhere for that one as well (if I am lucky).

We did open bar for all beer, wine, and well drinks. Only had cash bar if people wanted Top Shelf. That's what three different places we met with recommended (including the one we went with). You may be able to bring your own wine and just pay a low corkage fee, so if you have access to getting a lot of wine for a good price, it can be an option (we had a family friend that did wine distribution so got a few cases as a "gift"). Most places will work with you pretty easily on details.

I would think most places can keep the cake in the walk-in fridge (a lot of big facilities have them) and bring it out just for the cake part. We did buttercream frosting. Good stuff.

Congrats!

Why we will never win against Daesh (ISIS). You cannot combat against an Ideology.

edit: Probably NSFW....an Iraqi Army Humvee that was captured by Daesh and used in a VBIED attack against the Iraqi Army

Stopping that video at 1:43, then going directly to the end... so crazy.

What was crazy during that whole ordeal was that I just got on station probably 2 minutes before seeing this VBIED. Was told there was reports that a VBIED was in the area, no description of it though. Saw a vehicle racing up the road as I was looking at something else so I followed it. Tracked it up the road maybe a mile at the most when it turned sharply to the right (where the video starts) and the driver falls out of the vehicle as it was moving. The Humvee stopped and was there for 18 minutes (and change). We were trying to get a strike off or some artillery on that site to get it to blow up. A guy comes running up the road, had a red keffiyeh (head dress) on, and jumped into the vehicle. You can see it driving down that road and another Daesh member points out where he is supposed to go, and you can see another running away from the vehicle in case it blew up early. He gets to where he looks like he was going to turn right towards the other humvees and then saw all the "soft" targets huddled around a Humvee and he steps on the gas and turns left. You can see the dirt kicking up as the IA hummers were shooting at him to get him to blow up before getting on target. He didn't make it as close as he probably wanted when he detonated. At the 1:45 mark you can see a couple of bodies flung from the explosion. There were probably 30 or so IA around when it went off, and surprisingly "only" 10 died from the initial detonation. When the smoke cleared I was surprised as hell to see people in that area moving around.

A couple of minutes after that we were told of another VBIED in the location. Went back to where I picked up the first one and saw a pick-up truck with metal plating welded onto it. The truck drove the same route and instead of going right or left where the first one decided to go left it kept going straight, towards the burm where the IA HQ's were. You can see a bunch of mortar rounds impacting all around the truck, one hit a couple of feet to the passenger side and most likely blew the tires out. He kept veering to the right and was having a hard time controlling the truck. It ended up getting stuck on the dirt path and detonated.

Right after that we went back to the place where we picked up those two vehicles and saw 7 guys get into a van. They started driving towards the town where the fighting was taking place. Stopped, backed up and turned back onto the road from where they came, then stopped again. All of a sudden an explosion rocked the vehicle and it went up in a ball of flames and rolled back. When it stopped, 2 guys got out and ran from the van. Initial reports were that they hit a roadside bomb, which I knew was inaccurate because people were driving over that same spot over and over. We rewound the video and saw that it was a direct impact from a 155mm howitzer round. I couldn't believe 2 guys survived that, let alone a 155mm round impacting directly on top of it.

I wish I had moves like that.

He looks like a little Danny DeVito.

I guess using little there was a little redundant. Sorry

Nick should drop the mic, end on a "high" note, he won't make any posts better than that one.

Someone in the comments is like "Prince".
