i'll be honest, i never loved Princes' music, just wasn't my style but these stories about him that i've heard have made me love him as a person.
he did so many kind acts without ever wanting anyone to know and would basically blackball you if you tried to go public about it.
its really obvious how much of a leader he was by the fact very few people leaked stuff about him but now that he's gone they all want to come out in public and tell the world how great he was.
He was something. Kevin Smith had a different opinion of him. If you haven't watched that video, it is pretty funny.
I wasn't a super fan or anything, but I've owned a few of his albums over the years. You can't argue with the talent. His Super Bowl XLI halftime performance was one of the best. It's been exploding on Facebook since his death so I'm sure you've seen it. His solo at the 2004 R&R HOF was ridiculous. That was one of the best renditions of that song that I've ever heard and he just owned it.
The Kevin smith Prince story is well worth a listen. Not negative about him in the least. Just shows just how odd a guy Prince was to the avg person. Prince was that guy. I never understood the love for Michael Jackson the way he was so huge around the world. Not when Prince was everything MJ was and more IMO.
I have seen the craziest shit these past two days. In one town where there are no women and children, just Daesh. Tracked 10 guys into two separate buildings and they got a 500lb bomb dropped on each building. One guy walked away!
Yesterday, had 4 more guys in another town who have been shooting at the IA. They went into a small building and met a 500lb bomb dropped on them, they all survived! There wasn't anything from the building larger than a basketball (except them). 3 would later meet their maker when another bomb dropped on them. The 4th probably died at the hospital, lots of blood leaking out of him.
How the hell do you not die when a bomb drops on you?!? Gives me hope with these rockets they lob our way, which we got another today.
my dad lost vision in his right eye 30 yrs ago from a freak accident and lived without the vision, getting surgery and it failing every time and pressure. Well he decided 1 more time to do it and this time so far it's taken. He's seeing shadows but it's slowly coming back day and day and he's pumped about ti and won't stop talking about it, but I dont think I could live with vision in 1 eye so I'm pumped for him. He's gone to the eye doc now for a check up and theyll let him know about the progress so far. What a time to be alive.
last time he got it replaced (someone donated it when they died), he said he woke up during the operation (lol wot) and for a split second could see, then it was gone. Shitty feeling.
The way he damaged his eye, im not 100% on it i'll ask when he's home, but he took the back of a hammer in the eye so its cornea damage? so i think they cut his entire cornea out and replaced it.
I'm more shocked that people actually buy music in the sense of vinyl, cassette, CD or even digital download. With stuff like Spotify or Amazon Prime that offers nearly unlimited selection and listening, who the hell needs to pay for all of that?

some people still like to have the covers. and the vinyl is cool for special occasions. Not to mention the sound of a classic BB King or Eric Clapton cut is unmatched on vinyl.

Our kids are going to grow up and think it's totally weird that music was once something tangible(cassettes, CDs, etc.)...just weird to think that they'll have no recollection. It'll all be on their phone, or whatever gadget they're using 10-20 years from now.

This guy gets it! Never heard any of this on vinyl but BB King and classic Eric Clapton would be awesome to listen to, same with Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf. Love some Blues music!
The town I live in is at the center of the bathroom wars now. My Facebook feed is beyond ridiculous. If you want some quality entertainment, go read the comments on any stories posted by the Anniston Star about it on Facebook. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I live in Oxford, AL, the city council passed a law in response to Target's trans-inclusive bathroom policy saying you had to use the bathroom that corresponds with what is on your birth certificate. $500 fine and/or 6 months in jail is the penalty. It's been all over the news channels and the late night talk show hosts have been cracking jokes about it.

Holy god that's a cluster. I got halfway through the comments on 1 article and feared for society and had to quit...
I read a pretty good article on CNN about it yesterday. The part that most people are probably missing is that Police had stated that the only way they could enforce the law would be for someone to witness someone else entering the "wrong" bathroom, call the police, the police to arrive, and witness that same person using the wrong bathroom. Otherwise, there would be no citations.
So, first, someone has to be able to correctly identify a transgender person using the "wrong" bathroom. Then, the time it takes to contact and response time for the cops needs to be so fast that the person has to still be in the bathroom when they arrive. So, transgender people should just plan on only going #1 and not #2 in public bathrooms and there is almost zero percent chance of citations.
