Reports are that it's Tom Herman, as early as Saturday.

for the way the Texas Longhorn and their fans treated Strong, it would bring me much joy to watch Herman go to LSU over Texas.

Definitely surprise based on the recent chatter.
I'm happy either way, Herman or Jimbo. We get an offensive minded guy who is good with QBs.

Fournette's single game rushing record of 284 yards he set a couple of weeks ago didn't last long.
The backup Guide went for 285 tonight. Granted it took him 37 carries and LF did it on 16, bit of a difference.

Well he's already making 7 figures($3mil), so it probably depends on the amount.

Right. I cant see a program like Houston paying him 4.5 or 5 mil can you?

Houston has a ton of money from what I've read. 1 booster(of course he could be not credible at all) has said in an interview that Houston could match any offer, it's just a question of whether Herman wants to stay or not.
I'd imagine he'll make $6mil+ at Texas or LSU. So you'd think Houston has to at least match that.

internal convos ive heard and read says Texas will offer up to 7.5.
However, the AD is in favor of giving Strong another year.(I am too) So if Herman is snatched up, they wont be looking at another candidate this season. The ties to the state of Texas and recruiting make it difficult not to make a run at Herman. But I also think Strong has accomplished a lot and has potential to keep the momentum going. I just don't think he's done enough as fast as the armchair Qb's expect and I don't think he's the long-term answer at UT where Herman is better with the media and the political stuff much like Mack was when he gave a shit.

only way he stays at Houston is if they somehow get promoted to a big 5 conf (imo). He has to take the LSU or Texas job

Random fact. Only 2 FBS coaches who were hired before 2000 are still with their team continuously.

Both hired in 1999, checks out.
The "continuously" is the Bill Snyder technicality.

Yeesh, thats terrible. Well, at least now it frees up some huge cash for some coordinators because he isn't the answer.
Interested to see how long the contract is for.

The AD has to be fired at this point after these 3 coaching debacle so the past 2 seasons.
There's not much of a need to rush, so I'd assume Herman agreed with Texas and we couldn't land Jimbo.

I love this hire BTW. Sorry shel. This hire is the equivalent of an over the pants handjob while your wearing corduroys.
