apparently the amoutn of Fort McMurray so far to burn is the size of NYC. By 2night it'll be 2x the size of NYC and 12 hrs from then 4x. Also the fire will be at the Saskatchewan border by tonight.

1:55 is about my average over the 4 i've done.

come down to miami and we can race!


i rode 30 miles yesterday on a whim. i have a single speed bike and had never done more than leisurely 5 or 6 mile rides but it was such a nice morning i just kept going. my thighs and my ass are feeling the consequences today. 30 is a piece of cake for riders, i can't imagine how guys do 100... i think i just need a different bike for those types of rides... dudes were FLYING by me on their bikes and i was in slow motion it seemed like

I imagine Dave would be in the full get up with the tight, meshy shirt and shorts when biking.

haaa, i don't have a bike like that.

but i saw about 200 bikers during the ride and 195 of them were in full gear

Yeah, they call it a mini-marathon but it's a 13.1 mile half. I ended up 3361 out of 27,000 runners. The winner did it in 1:02.

So I've been in West Virginia for a week now, 1 more to go. still sucks.

How'd you get so unlucky?

I'm in Harper's ferry. Which I guess is about as good as it gets. I'm here to learn how to teach classes to others. Mostly dealing with pests of tropical fruit.

When I think of WV, I always think of tropical fruit.
