Gotten a lot of "I don't use them", You aren't using them correctly. But still no pros and cons and how your "supposed" to use them
Pro: You can set the lineups any way you want so that your AI manager doesn't have to make subs.

Con: You can't use 7 days this sim because its a 10 day sim.

Pro: If you want to skip your 5th starter due to a day off, you can.

Con: You have no idea how tired a guy is getting while the sim is going on, so you could be benching a perfectly healthy guy just because you think he is needing so many days off a week because he belongs to AARP.

Pro: I just gave you your pros and cons so quit asking

Con: I just sat here and typed these up so you would quit asking questions that have already been answered.
What the fuck is your problem? You don't like my question don't read it, simple as that.

If there wasn't a benefit or reason for them, why is it in the game? Your last pro and con are in correct, because everyone has said in summary "you shouldn't use them" That's it.

Thank you trendon for the first real explanation of why you may use them.

No because I gave a real explanation/example but you probably didn't take the time to read it, hence Whit's post. So did Dave, and you also posted right after that was done on the very same page. At this point you should be realizing Whit made the joke he did, but I'm guessing that won't happen.

Look, shel, I have read everyones responses. I have, but they aren't explanations. Read through them again. You said, "If you are just auto filling 7 day lineups, you shouldn't be using them." How is that explaining anything?

AJ gave a reason why not to use them. Got it.

Reign confirmed your comment, check.

Where is the explanation of HOW they are supposed to be used? That's all I'm asking. Nobody put up Pros to the 7day lineup until trendon did AFTER all the comments saying you shouldn't use them.

Just want to know what they are in the game for, there has to be some advantage or it wouldn't be there. Obviously I'm using them incorrectly, I just want to know the real way to use them and what benefit it would have.

how can you 'use them incorrectly'?

how is that even possible?

you're putting in a lineup. either you put it in thru the roster page where you set the vs RHP and vs LHP or you can set it up thru 7 day lineups. there is no 'benefit' other than you can tweak things precisely how you want them on 7 day lineups. as shel has pointed out 305 times, you can do most of that stuff by setting up the lineups with 'bench guy every 4th day' type features in your lineup part. i prefer, mostly because i just like to see it in front of me, to go thru the 7 day lineups and move guys around how i see fit each week. it takes me all of 20 seconds to do it, but i feel comfortable seeing that my lineups are how i like them. i never used them until last season, but i like it so now i use it every sim.

there really isn't a way to 'use them incorrectly' tho. its just an alternative way to enter lineups.

Really?? Come on Coug, use your head. What do you think they are there for? They are there so if you want the option to tweak your lineups for specific teams or pitchers or give guys playing time in different positions you can. There is nothing special about it, only to give you that option if you want to use it. There isn't an incorrect way to use it. You not thinking this through and listening is my fucking problem.

The only problem with 7-day lineups that could occur is trying to sit guys for a certain pitcher. Those pitchers are what they are listed as "probable". This doesn't account for a manager to switch up his rotation or switching from a 5 man to a 4 man or 6 man or whatever the case may be. When this switch is made, the only thing that you can account for is "change of handedness", not change of talent. So say for example, a manager was going to sit their players because the game had Jaramillo as my probable starter, but I decide to skip Jaramillo and go to Diaz, then that manager would have their backups in against my #1 instead of my #5, thus making that lineup change pointless.

Dallas fans have coined the slogan for the season:

'Win one for the Higgy! '

Opening day. Where eternal hope springs forward for the Louisvilles, Danvilles, and Indianapolises of the league.

Until that first 1-6 sim slaps reality in your face and the offseason countdown to begins :D

Good luck this year fellas, Ry I'm coming for you!
