If he is an American citizen, he should be tried just like any other American. There should be absolutely no consideration to the contrary.

you're talking about interrogation, he's talking about trial. two different things. He is likely going to get the same treatment as Timothy McVeigh.

Also unless they get him on a Federal charge, he won't face the death penalty.

If he were to be treated as a regular American citizen, he would be Mirandized and assigned legal counsel. Then they would not be able to interrogate him the way they need to. I have no problem with him getting a trial but he does need to be treated as a enemy combatant until then.
