NBA 2012-2013 Thread
Re: NBA 2012-2013 Thread
rumors that Mike Miller might start tonight.
I think it'd be a smart play by Spo. if Wade and Bron aren't hitting jumpers you're probably better off running one of them in their at a time and adding a jump shooter instead and letting Wade get his when Bron is sitting.

that's what it sounds like.ReignOnU wrote:What I've heard is Miller starting with James @ C.
the dude on Miami sports talk originally said it was to shuffle Wade into the 2nd unit which I think would make a bigger difference strategically.

The media crapstorm if that happens would be fun to watch.
With that said, I love how OKC used Harden when he was there. IMO, there shouldn't be a single minute in a game where Lebron and Wade were off of the floor together.

Haberstroh has an article saying this would be a good idea...because of Wade's inefficient play...according to him.DRiccio21 wrote:that's what it sounds like.ReignOnU wrote:What I've heard is Miller starting with James @ C.

Lebby's also been talking about at least entertaining the thought of some sort of reduction in minutes due to his play.

It won't be a reduction in minutes. And even with my dislike of Wade, 75% of Wade is better than 100% of any player not named Lebron on that team.

the idea of 'starting' is so outdated.ReignOnU wrote:DRiccio21 wrote:that's what it sounds like.ReignOnU wrote:What I've heard is Miller starting with James @ C.

most teams don't maximize efficiency throughout games the way they should. playing 'best 5' then 'backup 5' is as dumb as it gets.

Old school coaching mentality!!!DRiccio21 wrote: the idea of 'starting' is so outdated.

Lionel Hollins said on Lebby's radio show that Hollinger would give him stacks of spreadsheets of data, and he'd say thanks and throw em in the garbage without looking at em LOL. If not exactly that, it was something along those lines.
Re: NBA 2012-2013 Thread
which is why he's not coaching a John Hollinger led team.
but then I heard they going to look at Alvin Gentry... WTF

I am guaranteeing a win tonight by 7-9 points for Miami. Spurs take the next and then Ill withhold my prediction until the teams take their talents back to South Beach

I wasn't saying a reduction in minutes, you can play 35 minutes without starting.ReignOnU wrote:It won't be a reduction in minutes. And even with my dislike of Wade, 75% of Wade is better than 100% of any player not named Lebron on that team.

Only got to see the end of the first half... but it looks like the Splitter guarding Wade move wasn't very smart... anything else important so far? Looks like James/Wade and clicking... and Miller has been a non-factor.

James/Wade hit most mid range Js early, missed a few late.ReignOnU wrote:Only got to see the end of the first half... but it looks like the Splitter guarding Wade move wasn't very smart... anything else important so far? Looks like James/Wade and clicking... and Miller has been a non-factor.
Lebron is attacking hard in transition, even after Spurs makes, trying and succeeding to get some easy buckets.
Parker is doing some circus stuff, so fun to watch.

just high level basketball.ReignOnU wrote:anything else important so far?
Miami didn't hit a 3, San Antonio had 9 turnovers but their bench is 5-8 from the field. not the most likely of occurrences for either but besides that it was awesome to watch.

Re: NBA 2012-2013 Thread
I will never understand it. Ever
Lebron and Wade attack the rim and the Heat are playing great offensively and with a lot of energy.
Why cant they do that every freakin game? You cant say because the Spurs are guarding differently or changed their strategy. Its like they save it or some shit until they get blown out by 50 and then get all crazy and go out with a mission.
Do it every damn game and you wont have a problem.
This team can be so frustratingly amazing to watch sometimes.

they do the same thing every game for the most part. without looking, i'd guess they are playing around their season averages right now.Cnasty wrote:I will never understand it. Ever

when you watch every tick and analyze every play, you start to get frustrated about things that are normal ebbs and flows.
they are the best team in the NBA. San Antonio is the 2nd best. 3 of the top 25 players of all time are playing. its high level basketball, you can't just expect them to run thru them like they are the Bobcats.
and the 'energy' and the 'urgency' you're seeing is made jump shots. the same jumpshots that we cursed to no end the other night are going in tonight (like they normally do when Lebron is taking them) so it makes everything seem better.
