That's actually pretty sad of he was hobbling

Prothro was on at least 6 versions of NCAA. Every year they would have him highly ranked cause he kept trying to come back.
Ted, he wasn't running the 40 anytime soon.

Completely disagree with you.
As Corey stated, they have 2 losses.
The other thing is, the playoffs were put in so that you had the top 4 teams fighting for the Championship.
There is no prerequisite that the team has to be a conference champion.
I think they should expand it to the top 6 at least if not the top 8 and then it would be set.
I assume he's talking about Washington.
Also, going to 6 or 8 doesn't solve any of the talking points we have now, it'll just shift to the 7th and 9th team arguing they should have gotten in.
Go back to just 2 teams, 1 title game imo.

6 teams in a playoff gives the #1 and #2 ranked teams a bye week.
It gives you the opportunity to include the major conference champs in ACC, Big XII, B1G, Pac12 & SEC and then 1 other team.
If they wanted to do that sort of thing and make the conference championships a requirement to get in.
Then it leaves the 1 other team open for an independent or a team like Ohio State this year.
8 gives you more flexibility without any bye weeks.

should just scrap the season and have a big NDL cup. fuck it everyone makes it. You dont win your division? cool. You don't win your conference? cool. You don't beat the team that wins the conference? thats cool you're in.

I've argued that it should be 8 for years and I think it will be eventually.
Call it the Great 8 if you will, whatever...
Conference Champs:
Big 10
Big 12
PAC12
SEC
ACC
1 Guaranteed team from the remaining conferences
2 Additional at-large teams

Agreed... Michigan vs Ohio state would have been a glorified scrimmage... That's crap

One of the reasons I love college much more over the NFL is the value of a regular season.
It's the best in any sport.
NBA MLB play way too many games.
Love it at 4, 6 tops.
What would the BCS have done this year?
OSU-Bama most likely I assume based on schedules. I think that's what the final will be anyways.

i agree this is the best way
figure out who the 8 are based on that criteria, then rank them accordingly

2. Clemson vs 7. Oklahoma
3. Ohio St. vs 6. Michigan

He didn't make the rules and I dont agree with him in 2006.
Because penn State won one game, a hell of a close game too, and have more losses and lost to a mediocre Pitt team that means they should get in because they won their conference?
I don't agree with that and honestly feel winning your conference is over rated in college football as the layout and requirements for each conference are different.

so if Penn State lost to a mediocre Pitt, what does that make Ohio State who lost to Penn State?

A better team that has 1 loss and penn State has 2.
One game maters for the whole season and body of work?
