wow i've lost to #2 GT and #8 Miami, beat #7 OU, #3 UVA and #16 FSU and i'm still not ranked.

VVV I know I lost to ya and you def warrant being ranked but you have to remember that the people when you lost to them were ranked that high then, but Miami and GT have slipped up a bit this season and OU is not even in the top 25 any longer.

They may have been quality wins at the time but maybe you do not get much love because people vote strictly on wins and losses and not SOS or strength of wins.

I can see that, but when I did the voting aide I kept up with those numbers and they should still apply.

And i do keep up with the numbers now like you did. But, since you aren't ranked, people don't get to see what you did earlier, if you were ranked, people would see the ranking of the team when you beat them.

I don't think any poll is necessarily all that accurate until the final polls (maybe). I don't think people spend much time on them at all and often just vote to get the points. I see many teams I don't understand why they even receive a vote, unless it's just a mistake. I wouldn't worry about it anyway, what's the difference between being ranked 20th and just outside the top 25? Nothing really. I didn't receive a vote, despite beating one team in the top 25 and losing to only Georgia, East Carolina and Ohio St. All 3 were ranked at some point this season. Kind of disappointing not to see a single vote, but isn't really important anyway.

I realize you do that, and I see how difficult it is, but I would always include the schedules and include former rankings of teams that are in the "close to the top25" area

But then isn't that basically just like real life? A memphis team that hasn't beaten any ranked teams and has three losses isn't going to be ranked. Look at UNC in real life. 8-4 overall, 2 current wins over current top 20 teams (miami and virginia tech), and they got a total of 2 votes in the coach's poll, and both were from the UNC coach (butch had them 24th). If memphis got no votes, that means you didn't think you should be ranked, right?

Its also a matter of alot of teams in other leagues having good records. Look at FIU and FAU both with just one loss, so just alot to choose from this week I think. But I think this poll works better then when we used to just keep the same 25 every single week, and just moved them up or down.

umm ... actually, the last season before I took over, nothing was being done for the close to top 25 part, to be completely honest. Maybe it was the seasons before.

i have no problem not being ranked, but some of the teams getting votes is actually laughable. that's all.

I actually think the best way to vote is to bring up your previous poll from the week before....and then base your votes off of that. Then if someone needs to be moved or replaced, go find the new team yourself and not solely make votes based off the voting aide. It's great as a reference, but not to be used as your only reference.

if it helps your ego VVV, I voted you around 19 or 20

60 votes only is terrible. wouldn't mind see the breakdown in voting points changed. should be made a little more with only half the league voting.
