Huskerskev Bowl Game Predictions (Scores and Quick Summary)

by huskerskev84
Just a little something thrown together before too many games got played. Did it quick, so don't take offense to any prediction 8-)

BCS Championship Game- Clemson vs. USC
Clemson has 5 wins against teams currently in the top 25, USC has just 1. Both teams do a good job of holding on to the ball. It will come down to whether or not USC can contain the Clemson ground game. USC has the speed to keep the big gains from happening. I think both teams will struggle to score after putting up big numbers all year. Clemson 24 USC 21

Rose Bowl Game- Arizona State vs. Ohio State
The Buckeye defense will have to slow down the Sun Devils offense. ASU will move the ball, but turnovers will turn the game around. Ohio St 23 Arizona St 20

Tostitos Fiesta Bowl- Texas A&M vs. Pittsburgh
Pittsburg only loss was to Rutgers, A&M ended up Big 12 champs with a win over K-State. Pittsburgh 38 KState 20

FedEx Orange Bowl- Florida vs. Rutgers
Rutgers has the top scoring offense in the NCAA, Florida is full of talent and speed. Rutgers 35 Florida 31

Allstate Sugar Bowl- Auburn vs. Missouri
Auburn is riding high after wins @ Alabama and then winning the SEC Championship against Florida. Missouri finished 10-2, but no wins vs current top 25 teams. Auburn 31 Missouri 17

Capital One Bowl- Michigan vs. South Carolina
Both teams had great seasons. SC ended the season with 2 disappointing losses to top 5 teams. South Carolina 35 Michigan 20

Gator Bowl- Virginia vs. Kansas State
KSU will just be too much for Virginia. UVA has a chance though depending on which team shows up. KSU 28 UVA 14

AT&T Cotton Bowl- Oklahoma vs. Alabama
OU's loss to OSU to end the season was the only loss btwn the two to non ranked teams. OU will rely on the ground game to keep them in this one. The first team with a turnover will lose. OU 24 Alabama 17

Outback Bowl- Purdue vs. LSU
Two 8-4 teams...LSU has just been more tested and will be ready for Purdue. LSU 35 Purdue 21

International Bowl- Cincinnati vs. Ohio
Interesting in state battle...Ohio just doesn't turn the ball over and plays good defense. Cincinnati throws a key interception to turn the momentum. Ohio 23 CIncinnati 19

AutoZone Liberty Bowl- Rice vs. Tennessee
Rice has had a great run to this point, but I think the power of Tennessee will overcome Rice. Tennessee 23 Rice 21

Meineke Car Care Bowl- Miami, FL vs. Connecticut
Miami's Top 20 defense squares off with UCONN's Top 20 offense. Defense wins... Miami 24 UCONN 13

Chick-fil-A Bowl- Georgia Tech vs. Indiana
Tech looks superior across the board in this one. Indiana will have to put up some huge numbers thru the air. Georgia Tech 31 Indiana 14

PetroSun Independence Bowl- Baylor vs. Illinois
Baylor was the surprise of the Big 12 and will have to play another good game to knock off Illinois. Illinois 17 Baylor 14

Brut Sun Bowl- Texas vs. Minnesota
Minnesota struggled down the stretch, Texas will be too much. Texas 35 Minnesota 17

Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl- Duke vs. Ball State
Duke relies on ball control and limiting turnovers. Duke might be able to keep it close...but Ball St. will be too much. Ball St 17 Duke 13

Pacific Life Holiday Bowl- Colorado vs. BYU
BYU will have to control the clock to stand a chance against Big 12 competition. CU 27 BYU 17

Emerald Bowl- NCSU vs. UCLA
UCLA played some very good teams down to the final seconds. NCSU will have to force some turnovers to win this one. UCLA 27 NCSU 14

Valero Alamo Bowl- Texas Tech vs. Georgia
Georgia's touch schedule will pay off against the high powered offense of Tech. Georgia 27 Tech 24

Texas Bowl- CSU vs. Tulsa
Tulsa's only 2 losses came against ranked teams. 6-6 CSU will keep this one close though. Tulsa 23 CSU 21

Roady's Humanitarian Bowl- Maryland vs. Boise State
Two of the top 5 offenses square off as Boise St tries to show their 11-1 record was no fluke. Maryland 31 Boise St 28

Insight Bowl- Houston vs. Michigan State
If the Houston teams that beat Rice shows up, this game can be interesting. Michigan St has been battle tested. Michigan St 21 Houston 14

Champs Sports Bowl- FSU vs. Iowa
FSU's high powered offense will have to be kept off the field for the Hawkeyes to have a chance at pulling off the upset. FSU 31 Iowa 17

Motor City Bowl- Wisconsin vs. Temple
If Temple wants to keep this close, they will have to control the clock. Wisconsin wins just on talent alone. Wisconsin 20 Temple 10

Sheraton Hawaiʻi Bowl- EMU vs. Hawaii
already played

Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl- WMU vs. UNLV
The matchup here is UNLV's offense vs WMU's defense. If UNLV can limit turnovers, they should be able to shut down the stagnant WMU offense. UNLV 20 WMU 14

Pioneer Pure Vision Las Vegas Bowl- TCU vs. Arizona
Teams are pretty evenly matched on paper. TCU finished with the better record, but had an easier path to the bowl game. Arizona 23 TCU 17

SDCCU Poinsettia Bowl- Miami, OH vs. ULM
ULM brings a top 5 offense in terms of yards while Miami (OH) has a top 25 defense. ULM 31 Miami (OH) 20

GMAC Bowl- UCF vs. Utah State
The Aggies had a successful season just making a bowl game. UCF's defense has been great this year. UCF will send the Aggies home disappointed. UCF 24 Utah St 7

R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl- Kent State vs. FAU
FAU finished an impressive 9-3 but ended with a disappointing loss to BYU. Kent St was just 6-6, but has the more talented team overall. Kent St 27 FAU 21

PapaJohns.com Bowl- Syracuse vs. MTSU
MTSU finished the season strong to earn the bowl bid. Syracuse finished .500 to barely make it. MTSU 23 Syracuse 14

New Mexico Bowl- LA Tech vs. Utah
Both had pretty easy strength of schedules. Both teams can score, La Tech's defense is a little better on paper. Louisiana Tech 24 Utah 21

St. Petersburg Bowl- Buffalo vs. Memphis
Memphis is just a little more talented and a little better on paper. Buffalo just turns the ball over too many times. Memphis 24 Buffalo 14

EagleBank Bowl- North Carolina vs. Toledo
Toledo's offense has struggled with the exception of a couple games. I expect the Tar Heels to overmatch Toledo. North Carolina 28 Toledo 10

Well, I'm not sure if 18-8 is impressive or not since I don't have anyone else's predictions to compare it too. So I guess I will hold the crown as the top predictor of bowl game winners! First title of any kind I've had since I've been in leagues!
