Do any of you actually play the single player for MW1 and MW2.....I found them both to be very entertaining. Obviously we get it for online but good god both games have been up there as my personal favs as far as the single player in concerned.

I always play the single player of any game that I buy. CoD's single player is pretty average but i still enjoyed both of them. I guess its not right to compare it to all the other great single player games I've played recently this generation (infamous, uncharted, batman, red dead, MGS4, etc)

I finished the single player on MW2. However, I played it over a long period of time so the plot never stuck with me. I was even lost there for a while on who I was fighting. My biggest gripe with the single player is that there were a few scenarios where I couldn't tell the difference between my guys and the bad guys. I just ended up shooting everybody.
I had a lot more fun playing some of the spec ops stuff. They are quick and a really nice change of pace. There is a couple really nice sniper ones. One is basically the guy in the tower scenario that will help to improve your sniping. Granted, the gun doesn't bounce as much in single player but it still will help you get a better feel for sniping.

Last but certainly not least, we'd like to touch on some of the multiplayer/Co-op details that we were able to get our hands on. Although Treyarch isn't ready to rip the top off of the competitive side of things, we were given the chance to talk with Dan Bunting and David "Vahn" Vohnderhaar, who both are working extremely hard on the multiplayer portion of Black Ops. Instead of attempting to thread their words into a neatly woven paragraph, we're giving you bullet points. Dig in...
* The Black Ops mp team is twice the size compared to the mp team of World at War
* Work on multiplayer began on day one
* There is no time period for multiplayer, giving us access to more toys and tools
* Vehicles will return for mp, although not how you know them in CoD's of past
* The mp team reads the forums, blogs, Twitter, etc. and are sensitive to what the community says
* No mp maps have been taken from sp, although some sp maps have been taken from mp
* Create-a-Class customization is deep and includes many new features
* Focus is being put on varied playlists, including those for old school gamers ala Barebones
* The team is also focused on how to extend the game once you leave your console/PC
* Many of your favorite weapons will be seen, although we can't speak specifics
* Region filter will return
* Leave with party feature sounded to be making a return
* Host migration will be included
* Auto-aim ("Sticky Aim") will have a toggle on/off option
* Focused on preventing hackers/modders with a dedicated "security team"
* 2-4 play Co-op will return, and it's not Campaign Co-op, rather a "really fun co-op mode that you and your friends will love to sit on the couch and play". Speculate away people.
* It looks like dedicated servers will be returning to the PC version, although mod tools are still in question

SOunds good, excited about vehicles and leave with party. COD 3 was fun with running people over with motorcycles. I loved jumping off a motorcycle and it exploding on a guy as it rolled over the entire team

Call of Duty: Black Ops Pre-Orders Outpacing Modern Warfare 2, says Analyst
It will be interesting this holiday season to see if the Infinity Ward situation has any effect on the sales of Call of Duty: Black Ops. Pacific Crest Securities analyst Evan Wilson believes that Black Ops will sell 12 million copies, up from his previous estimate of 10 million. Wilson has spoken to his firm’s retail sources and has found that pre-orders for Black Ops are outpacing those of Modern Warfare 2.
Activision has gone on record noting that each Call of Duty title outperforms its predecessor, but Wilson believes Black Ops will be the end of that trend. Wilson believes that “competition, weaker marketing, and the Infinity Ward situation” will prevent Black Ops from reaching Modern Warfare 2’s staggering sales of 16 million during the fourth quarter of 2009.
Call of Duty: Black Ops is scheduled for release on November 9, 2010.

Hot off the press from NowGamer’s one-on-one interview with Treyarch community manager Josh Olin at this year’s gamescom in Cologne, comes the world-shattering revelation that for the first time in the series, multiplayer matchmaking “will enable matchmaking with people in the local area.”
Those particularly attuned to Modern Warfare news may remember that Robert Bowling, creative strategist at Infinity Ward disappointed a lot of people when he tweeted back in September of last year that “There isn’t an option to search specific regions/ countries when matchmaking, but there is improved matchmaking to auto-assist.”
Will this see an end to transatlantic sponginess? We can only hope. We love our American friends dearly, but playing against them with transatlantic lag can be a real trial and vice-versa. This could see an end to it. To be fair the Modern Warfare franchise is perhaps the only game big enough to make sufficiently populated local communities a real possibility.
