I cant wait any longer.
Need to start the thread to simmer my homer views and get some thoughts from outside football fans.
There is no reason the Canes cant win this game in my eyes.
The home field will be huge though and I think the Canes try to keep them quiet by continuing with this no huddle type offense.
They need to contain Pryor in the pocket, make him beat them with his arm, and dont get to aggressive as OSU will screen them to death.
Miami has the advantage speed wise on the outside with their WRs but OSU has a great Dline and our young, inexperienced Oline in a hostile environment will be tested. It will be on Jacory to make the right reads when OSU blitzes since they will need to bring pressure to help their secondary.
I REALLY liked our chances until I saw OSU open up almost a double digit favorite. Vegas cant be that wrong.
My homer pick: Canes 28 * 17
My Pessimist pick: * 28 Canes 14
My realist pick: * 27 Canes 17

it's the most likely sport to see a DD underdog win, so you got that going for ya C.
I like tOSU to win this game, but Miami's front seven should be pretty tough to crack.
I'm curious how Tressel comes out, because I doubt it's throwing the ball. The U can get back into the game with the pass, but they're gonna need something from Cooper early to keep them from an early deficit.
This may be one of the biggest coaching mismatches we'll see, but speed can sometimes make up for that and I'm sure we'll see more on the visiting side.
If I could get the Bucks -7 I think i'd play, but I doubt it'll get near that. At 14 I probably play Miami, but most likely a stay away unless something comes up at halftime.
BOL Corey, I'm rooting for Miami so Boise can get in the title game for my future

Yea, this scares me the most I think.
That and if Jacory gets scared and starts tossing the ball up for grabs. I just hope Whipple comes out aggressive and keeps this offense clicking. We have 3 awesome running backs and I am excited to see if Lamar Miller has his coming out party.
Our Dline is very deep so we can keep rotating in some guys and keep coming after Pryor but one of Miami's biggest weaknesses always is their discipline. They want to get up field so fast they continually lose contain and I know Pryor hasnt been running as much but can still do it.
I want the secondary to press and make Pryor make a big play with his arm, force him to do that. Then adjust accordingly.
I havent been this excited for a game in a looooooooooooooong time.

This game is pretty frightening. Will Tressel be too conservative in this game? He tends to be too tight in these games.
Now, what I seen from the first game. Saine looks very healthy. He has the speed to even outrun the Miami Speed (ran 10.38 in 100 in high school) Finding ways to get him the ball will take the pressure off of Pryor. Like Nasty said, the biggest mismatch will be the Buckeyes Front seven vs. the Miami's O-Line. The thing about the Buckeyes, it isn't just seven guys. There are 14-18 of them that rotates in and out and keeps them fresh.
My Prediction
tOSU 35 Miami 24

I put an 8pt OSU advantage on this before seeing the opening spread and I still think that's about where it will end up.
The idea that Miami has some kind of significant speed advantage is so far off base. Trust me, OSU is far from slow.
The other issue is, I don't see Jacory Harris being able to lead that team in a big game, in the Shoe. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Terrible Pryor is that much better, only that he is improved from last year and is playing at home. OSU has the ground attack to just eat away and control the game. And keep in mind that Devier Posey, though he hasn't put up the numbers, was a top 5 WR in his recruiting class that turned down your traditional passing powers to end up with the Suckeyes. (did I mention my hatred for OSU yet?) OSU is just too talented and to well coached to be knocked off by Miami.
If I can get double digits, I might play Miami. If it falls to 6 1/2, which I'm REALLY hoping for, I'll be playing OSU. in the middle... I'll probably avoid it.

I wonder if the staff at the U is regretting not offering Chekwa / Rolle? You know it's definitely personal for those 2 guys... especially Rolle.

If this was a title game I'd pick Miami by 21, but OSU might show up.
Miami 24
OSU 20

I like this prediction the most:
tOSU 35 Miami 24
That is where I honestly see the game.
But I do have the concern that Tressell will be too conservative.
And "Terrible" Pryor, love that name..
I have never been a huge fan of him. He reminds me of a young Michael Vick, can scramble and cause issues with his legs, but his pure throwing ability is just mediocre.
But I will no doubt be in OSU gear head to toe rooting for my boys!
It should turn out to be a damn good game though and I am a little scared of what Miami will bring. I just hope the young QB chokes under pressure.

I dont think they are but they are regretting Peterson going to LSU.
If we had Harris and Peterson that secondary would be the best in the nation when you mix in Ray Ray.
Dont get me wrong,I was never saying OSU is slow but Miami has the speed advantage in some key areas. Im not under the big 10 slow concept.
Jacory Harris isnt young anymore. He is a junior and has had playing time since he was a true freshman so I wouldnt consider him young anymore. Its time for him to step up and win games like this. I know its not a perfect comparison but he went into Tallahassee in his first big game and got a big win up there and looked amazing. Sure the FSU D is nowhere near this OSU D but he has been in hostile environments. I just really hope they utilize the no huddle and actually move the ball. Taking the crowd out of the equation and the Dline wont be able to rotate as they want.
All this "mute" now since Nole picked them which means we lose by 3 TDs. Damn you Nole!!!!

Well played, both of you.
I am very worried about OSU watching that Wisky game footage.
Miami is quick up front, not to big. Wisky just ate them up alllllllll game.
Then when they didnt run they went TE which Miami is notorious for never covering. I can see OSU doing the same exact thing until we can prove it can be stopped.
Wisky's Oline just mauled our front 7 and I can see that happening again with OSU.
