Nick Wadden just brought this up and its something that really bugs me. He said i cant root for the red wings because i dont live in detroit... lol dumbest logic ever considering its coming from someone who is an oklahoma fan from toronto. Just a couple weeks ago my friend that goes to Mich St was saying im not a Michigan fan because i dont go there. Whats your thoughts on this?

Also, that logic worked years ago along with the "worth the price of admission" cliche. With mass communication as it is, rooting for the hometown team is not a necessity.

The only team I like in the Boston area are the Celtics. The Patriots and Red Sox can go fuck themselves.

I think you are totally fine. For instance, my buddy gives another one of my buddies shit because he goes to Michigan State, but is a Michigan fan. He says then why do you go here. (Because Michigan is a tough ass school to get into) I think it just shows that he is a true fan and sticks to his team. I think it is bullshit if people think since you go to school there doesn't mean that school has to be the Number 1, and not a bandwagon fan.

yeah it took alot to talk them into it, but i mean a couple hours on a friday night wont kill ya. just make up for it tomorrow and sunday.

problem is that I always seem to say that about sunday, but football on all day always gets me, and with FF playoffs I do not think my eyes will get off the screen

I root for everything that is Chicago in pro sports because I was raised to root for them with my dad being from there and all.

People give me shit for it out here in La cause i hate the Dodgers and Lakers....kinda sucks not having my team minus USc around but I love my Chicago teams and have zero ties to them.

Same idiots that say "you cant root for this school because you didnt go there or graduate from there!"

Root for whoever the fuck you want to, but if you jump teams on who is winning every other year you deserve the criticism.
