Lets be honest

How many of us have played a team we were suppose to beat or on paper was suppose to be an easy win only to come up short and lose? After the loss out of frustration we feel there has to be some ungodly reason we loss i.e. strageties, big run, etc. or we just are so frustrated we dock the guy or want to because he just had to be doing something he shouldn't so he can win? lol not trying to start a bitch session just trying to get a vent session going for those who need it lol. I personally don't dock if I lose to a lesser team unless it was apparent that you did something I can prove i.e. over use of play the pass/run or strategies. I don't use them I honestly think I turn on conservative run and catch and that is about it so I don't have balls falling everywhere but I don't see the need for anything else or the use of any aggression. But that is just me being honest and putting it out there. I'm not expecting anyone else to say what they do or don't do. But just starting some chatter cause it's early at the dealership and cold and raining so I'm bored lol

It's awesome that you are finally posting to the boards.
I expect to lose every game so this doesnt apply to me since I am a .500 club at best (with some bad teams though). I have to play out of the world just to beat a team that is the same ranking as me so this doesnt apply to me. I worry that when I do win my opponent may think I have done something to get an advantage though.

Yeah I understand. I think that a few of us with some us wonder what our opponent is thinking when the game isn't quite going their way.

When I was younger I used to feel that way but didn't dock guys. Now when I play, I don't even do the coaches' report for a full half hour after the game, to make sure when I do it that all emotion/frustration/etc is gone and I can objectively replay what happened in my mind.

If I get really upset after a game, I tell myself to wait to post coaches reports. I was absolutely crushed 3 times this season (Michigan State, UCF and ECU) all the losses were different though. UCF just completely shut me down on offense, I could stop him, but he didn't let me get a yard. ECU used QB option runs to tear my defense apart, couldn't guess which was he was going. EA screwed me against Michigan State (I wouldn't have won, but wouldn't have lost that bad).
What really pisses me off, and pretty much the only thing I will dock for now and days is overusing a specific play. In last year, I knew the slot post was coming and still couldn't stop it. If people use money plays, it will piss me off to no end. I would normally be ready to throw out 2's but usually waited a few to calm down before giving coaches reports. Oh and I routinely gave Shel 4's.

I would give him a 1 just cause he doesn't respect me or my game lol.......jk
But I used to get mad when people would take off with the QB like on a 3rd and long play and everything was shut down and then the QB takes off and no one reacts to him running lol. But it's sim and just cause I don't run with mine doesn't mean others shouldn't. But there have been times I've been pissed cause it's cost me a game or so but I get over it. I can't say I've played anyone lately that has done anything I would say isn't sim. I get frustrated when I can't move the ball or figure out a defense but that's my own damn vault.

Sad thing is I don't watch this show. the one time I did I got in a bar fight with guys thinking they were going to act like Jersey Shore guys and act like assholes to everyone in the bar I was working at. It was a fun night lol. We as bouncers have a game we like to play when we are tossing people out we try to see how close to or far past the manhole cover in the street we can toss people

Definitely thought this was a Jersey Shore thread, somewhat disappointed here. I'll bite anyway...
...never docked anyone out of frustration from losing. When I see something that seems sketchy (which has been a few seasons), I'll bring it up to the coach. Based on how that conversation goes, I'll make my final decision. Once specific issue I had, the coach seemed like he was just chucking it deep and I couldn't stop it. So I asked him after the game why so many long balls? He told me that he had a pretty good idea when I was going to try to bring the heat and the he'd typically make his reads outside-in and when he saw any type of C2 zone, he'd go for it. The fact is, it was MY play that was giving him these opportunities. If I had just docked him out of spite, that would have been pretty crappy. Instead, I learned something that helped me out. Ended up giving him all 5s, as he deserved. Ironically, this coach is now one of the coaches that I REALLY enjoy playing against.

Being from the Jersey Shore its nothing like that but really they are all New Yorkers coming down for the weekend. I think the show is hilarious because they are just so dumb.
Back on track with the thread, if i feel I was frustrated with a players game play or because I just didnt play well. I dont fill out my coaching report right away. I wait a hour or so and then grade the person fairly. I have to let my jersey shore temper calm down lol

it's stories like this one that I enjoy reading and was hoping to get out of this thread. But I feel more coaches should do that. I don't think we have enough that are open to discussion after the game. I personally would like to recap afterwards win or lose. That way if I did do something or I think they did that maybe wasn't an issue for me but could be to another or vice versa its a good gauge so that you can check yourself and hope to have a better outcoming next game. Its all about improvement to me whether it is gameplay or skill level its about having fun and getting better.

Well, sometimes it doesn't matter also dcane.
Case in point, this season I had a comment on my coaches report that someone docked me 1pt for putting my #2 WR in the slot. I know (I think) who it is, because they made a huge play and commented on it after the game when we were talking. I specifically pointed out to them that I didn't use a formation sub, that it was actually a trips formation with no weakside WR, so all 3 of my WRs were on 1 side. Apparently that conversation didn't register or they simply didn't believe me. Dunno.

Well I have been told pleanty of times to be aware of other peoples perception. I know I had a game where a coach brought up something about the bump and run and my dline shifting. We discussed it after the game I informed him that the BNR was actually in the plays I called that I noticed. I was using some cover 1 plays and they were actually press plays. So now I use them in as much moderation as possible. but I don't shift my line at all anymore. But without the helpful conversation after the game I wouldn't have looked into it or been aware of any issues to address for further games. So I appreciate the talks afterwards I consisder myself to be a good coach and I honestly worry more about my gameplay then winning a game so I try to get as much input as possible because although I believe certain things to be sim or okay another persons perception may be different.

This, but I have to take it a full step further lol. I will wait a full 24 hours on all my reports if there was anything that pissed me off. I'll write the stuff down, and then look at it again. Most of the time when I look back at it I realize I was just being a little baby in the moments right after the game and just got beat.
