Old School Online Players, I Need Help

I was reading Nick's thread and it reminded me of something. After the INCAA folded because I got thrown in jail and that imbecile Khary was on vacation or some shit, the '05 version had a new league started with, presumably, one of you guys at the helm or someone that was popular at the time. He promised me Nebraska. He also promised someone else Nebraska. We agreed to play a best-of-three and whoever won the series was to be awarded Nebraska.

Now, at the time, I was really fucking good. I like to brag to anyone who is a loser like us that I was the first person to ever reach 100 wins in online NCAA football (true); granted, because I got put on house arrest two days prior to the release. I was tough to beat with Jammal Lord, Matt Herian and David Horne!

Anyway, this dude absolutely beat my balls in for both games. His name began with a J. Any leads? I never seen a dude run the option like he did and I thought I was the best at it at that time.

Only guy I ever played where I felt like I had no chance against them was BleedSCred. Guy knew every trick in the book.

He and I used to have epic battles. It was always me, him, and Fatmatt having epic duels. Goddamn I feel like committing crimes again so I can have that much time.

I did have Fattmatt's number though. I used to drive him crazy. Anyone remember if you used the alternate control setting im NCAA 2004 it gave you a more effective juke? It was nasty.

DUDE!

Was that that "juke" where it looked like the guy stumbled?! If so, either:

A) Everyone was using this alternate setup and honestly didn't know what I was talking about
B) Everyone was lying to me when I asked.

I do believe I remember a guy from Utopia by the name of JTrain being really good with Nebraska....but it's been so long.

I'm going to go hit up the internet archive and see if I can pull up some pages from 2004 off that site.

Trendon and Spydie are the only two people I remember from INCAA. I remember I controlled Auburn and Air Force. Lost the first game of the season vs. Colorado using Auburn and wanted to quit right there. Although I remember beating an undefeated Oregon State team 3-0 with Air Force at one point.

I don't think Utopia was called ncaaStrategies back then, think they adopted that name. So I can't find anything off of Utopia from the NCAA 04/05 days unless I suddenly remember the URL.

Try it out...

It's really fun to plug in an address and see what the site looked like throughout the years.

Can also help you find out information in situations like this.

Sweet, you never played at Utopia did you?

During the NCAA 2004 golden days I remember another Nebraska fan that changed his PS ID a lot (as did I before settling on Block M), it was once MeSoHorne.

There was a whole crew of those guys... I ran a league with many of them in it.

jtrain
djwill
I thought kjayb
rhombic
avenge
bluesomething

Most of them were from Utopia, if not all. Very good ranked players, but from a sim standpoint, would get crushed on reports. 3 of them ran nothing but straight compression... 2-3 routes tops.

I was Maize there, but in 2003 I was just 15 so I couldn't really handle losing that well so I often changed my PSID and got into a lot of arguments that were unnecessary for sure.

No, I would read the forums, though, and friendly with Rhombic, though.

When they first came out with online, me and Rhombic actually started up our own league (Southern College Football League, something like that), but it was very basic, I think it lasted maybe a month before we had to admit it failed? Would be impossible for the NDL to have survived without coaching reports and having that tied into your draft spot.

I remember the first year and no one knew what kind of leagues would work. There were some that wanted entry fees from everyone, and they were going to pay our to the top four finisher or so. I think I was in 5 or 6 that first year, the last two being INCAA and NDL.

That thing is AWESOME! I punched in the web address for some old online football leagues and had completely forgotten that Riccio & I were Co-Commishes of the POWER College League, the year before NDL appeared on the scene. http://web.archive.org/web/200308010957 ... A/Home.htm
