NCAA 2012 Q & A

ok so we are almost midway through our 2nd season of the 2012 version of NCAA football and I thought it would be kind of cool to talk about some interesting topics. For instance, when looking at the qb position are you more impressed with passing yards and TDs rather than efficiency when it comes to the passing difficulty in this years game? Or how about how hard it is to run the table with any teams right now. I really believe that EA has somehow made it so that if you play a certain number of games that in the next game you are going to lose no matter what you do. It just seems like its really hard to run the table.

So these were a couple of my questions to you guys, perhaps we could get some more going and kind of spark up some interest in our league gaming.

this is the point of NCAA where about 50% of the league loses interest in the game, 25% have already lost interest (we call this group, "Coreys") and the 25% left won't tire of it and will be asking for scrims 3 days before 2013 drops.

What I mean is like I can rattle off like 3-4 scrims and play really well, then in the next game I play whether it be a scrim or league game I just cant do anything right or I throw alot of picks, it just seems like the game doesnt want guys having huge winning streaks.

I thought maybe you meant in Dynasty mode or something.

No amount of money in the world could convince me that EA tracks your personal progress online and then alters the random variable generation to suddenly make your oppenent's team play "better" because you're winning too much.

I know it sounds dumb, and I dont think there is like a guy flipping the switch, but maybe there is code in the game that just makes the game play more unpredicatble sometimes. Just a thought, because I have played alot of gaes and just something I kind of noticed.

If that is true I wish it would work the opposite way as well. Give me a break EA, let me win once in a while, jeez

If EA won't be fair to everyone we should all just make a pact to go 6-6 so we're all bowl elligible and then we could create more bowl games so we could all play in one and then we could invent multiple national championship awards so all the bowl winners (at 7-6) could be national champions and then we could create "achievement in excellence" awards for all the people that lose their bowl game.

Then we all be winners! Hooray!

So we would ALL get a little trophy?

Btw, I think EA did this in FIFA too, I lose every once in a while because my players will randomly kick the ball to other players and just stop running. It happens in our NDL City games too, our guys will just not do very well sometimes. EA must be tracking our progress and doesn't want us to get more than a few good games in a row.

lol, dont think its quite that random but there is defintely a momentum component

i forget which game it was, maybe 05 or 06 but they had that big "momentum meter" that stayed on screen and the more it filled, the "better" your team played

make no mistake it is still there...the only issue is i think theyve totally (or almost totally) eliminated the home field "bonus" momentum you get. now it seems 50/50 so even on the road, it plays pretty much the same (minus crowd pump sometimes)

but then again, im a frontrunner and am just naturally terrible at coming from behind to win games

I disagree. That momentum feature had an immediate and recognizable effect in your player ratings. If you recall, you could go to the depth chart and see the pluses and minuses. There is no momentum in these games. There is, however, momentum in you, the player.

I usually play the game sitting on my couch, so my momentum is most assuredly zero. Literally.
