Battlefield 3 Final Opinion

I have now logged 147 hours of play time in on Battlefield (about 170 if you count co-op and single-player). I hated the demo but Matt (who never fucking plays) convinced me to buy it. I hated it at first. Then I watched a few videos on how to play the game and I warmed up to it a bit but still pined for Modern Warfare 3. Then I kinda liked it but bought MW3. Then I played MW3 and realized, instantly, how much I missed Battlefield and put CoD on Craigslist and sold it the next day.

The game is fucking perfect.

As such, without getting into a pissing contest, I implore you guys to give the Battlefield series a serious try next year. The self-proclaimed "A-team" preaches teamwork? Well, you have no idea the havoc you can cause if you get guys all playing as one seamless unit. That aside, to repeat, I have no idea how I can ever play a Call of Duty game ever again. The only thing I wish is I had more friends playing it along with me.

I hate using a headset because I like to blast the sound. And don't give me shit about working as a squad; ask Shift. You guys all take engineer and support, so I would always take assault or recon, thus placing me in front of you or behind you by nature.

Really? I just assumed no chat with those. The loud sounds of the game and the voices combined don't get annoying?

Don't try to rationalize with Trendon.

He's trying to sell all the MW3 people on how great it is to play as a team/squad using all the BF3 strategy, but he doesn't talk to this teammates.

He's a walking conundrum.

Shut up, hipster. You can play the entire game without the mic and be a perfect team player if you use your eyeballs and listen to the sounds. When someone is screaming for help, it isn't just ambient sound; that motherfucker needs help! And if you hear him, he is close enough for you to help. In fact, AJ's revelation notwithstanding, playing WITHOUT the mic could potentially make you a better team player because you can pick up on the sounds of guys screaming for ammo, asking for a medic, and telling you to get into their vehicle.

Often times, the guys who do communicate are the opposite.

It has tons of maps and I quickly got over my hatred of Rush since you utilize parts of the maps that other modes don't use. All in all, this i my final (and first, really) mea cupla: try the fucking game; I promise you will love it. I did a full-on 180.

I still have it, I am just trophy hunting with MW3 right now. I only need 3 more trophies to Platinum. Maybe 4. I just need Survival trophies. Once I do that I'll try and hop on Battlefield again. I couldn't stand it at first because of the mic issues. Then nobody turned their mics on. The other issue I have is the dominance of the sniper, it drives me crazy that you can't even get to an objective without a sniper hitting you from 200 yards out. I'll give it a try soon. However, I have Skyrim waiting too. NCAA, Madden, MW3, Battlefield and Skyrim...Oh shit, I still have to finish AC2 and have Brotherhood waiting...fuck, there is just too many good games. I'm waiting for my brother-in-law to finish Uncharted 3 to borrow that too. Ugh...

the games great. I just dont like palyign with people who don't talk/coordinate. id rather play pac-man if you arnt gonna use teamwork. fucking waste to just run around shooting at moving targets with no gameplan.

The gameplan is to win and I find that everyone is most concerned with winning rather than piling up stats; mic or not,

I play BF3 with my brother and a couple of friends and it is great. The strategy is awsome, but when u have a full squad the headsets are sparatic, they are working on a fix for it and if that happens this game will be complete.

Okay, so I bought BF3 with every intention of playing it more than MW3. That hasn't happened. I just popped it in this morning. Wow, great change of pace and is WAY more realistic. I think I'm going to spend more time on it.

I have not had the chance to play for the past three weeks - I haven't even turned the PS3 on - because of my new job and I am having BF3 withdrawal.
