Anyong else struggling with this version of NCAA?

I find myself not really enjoying this version of NCAA as much as the last. I guess more to the point is lack of defense overall, manually controlling is near impossible in this version, combine that with the terrible zone coverage you're forced to play man about 100% of the time. I guess the new passing game EA was so proud of is to make the defense completely and utterly useless. Every game I play the QB stats for me or the other team is typically 13/17 300 yards 3 picks or 16/17 with no picks. I do not understand why every pass in this game is either the offense rolling you or a interception on a crossing / out route.

I typically enjoy running different types of offenses, using different teams to stay fresh. Well, in this version it seems the only viable offense that is consistent is the spread. Air raid, spread option, spread running plays, and option read out of the spread all seem to work with any team, with any style of players. Yet you try to line up and run a power running game unless your team is just far superior to the other you have major issues with blocking, and running backs lowering their head for extra yards and barely moving for no reason at all.

I guess the overall point of this post or rant is I find it kind of boring to have to run a spread offense to even keep up, and since defense cannot get stops consistently you have to run a spread to stay in the game. Does anyone else have this issue with the current version?

The new patch came out today, so maybe that will help the zone defense a bit, they said they were going to fix it a tad. I like how hard it is to move the ball. I have only played a handful of user games, but even against the CPU it's tough to play a major conference team with a bad one and have any kind of success. Just my opionon though.

I hop so, passing is just so easy, really against zone or man.

I think it's too easy.

Yea, I have a power back and other than the occasional play where I break one open without being touched for a nice gain, it's really tough going, and my power back isn't getting much RAC to speak of.

Shel, it is easy for you as you have LSU, come on now! :D

this

its easier for teams with an Oline since its tougher to get pressure

Defenders in man coverage are still running routes before the receivers sometimes, but overall this version is pretty fun. and im 0-2.

Well AJ, the overall point of my post and I don't know if others feel this way, is I feel guilty if I throw constantly and it is working. The worst part about this version is you are not even running money plays, it is that the players are genuinely that wide open all the time. It is sad when a "throw away play" that we all run from time to time to mix it up includes tosses and stretch runs. They are almost on par with reverses now.

9 times out of 10 they would hit just about any route with anyone covering in real life. My point was the pressure on the qb isnt there, sometimes ever. even in real life guys are eventually going to get open.

I hear you, i just think they need to fix the occasional QB pressure

Offense really is a joke in the game.

Its nearly impossible to get any pressure with a 4 man rush...even if you user the DL...they should of toned that down a bit.

This game is all offense. Even on heisman.

I agree that power running is a joke in this game, but other than that I think this one of the best they have ever put out. By biggest issues are that once again blocking kicks is all but impossible.

Played a scrim last night against a team not as good as LSU. I gave up 38 points and over 400 yards passing. Granted I scored 48 lol, but that goes to my point that passing is way too easy, obviously unless we're talking A rated team vs a C- team. That part goes without saying.

yea the lack of defense in this game.. somewhat diminishes how much I like it.

There is some things I like about the game, but I do think I liked the last version a little more, as it felt more balance.

Just about every game I've played has been defensive. The only game that was high scoring was because of the 3 pick sixes that I threw.

Judging from scores and stats from the first block you're seeing a wide variety of numbers.

High point totals/low point totals
Lots of rushing yards/negative rushing yards
No INTs/Boatloads of INTs

Same old, same old really.

Has alot more to do with the coaches adjusting to the way the game plays than it does "the game" dictating what works and what doesn't. Playbooks seem to be a huge key. Ive tried about 5 and 2-3 i couldn't do ANYTHING in hte run game. Found one that fit my HB/QB and doing pretty solid. IDK i just dont feel like this is one of those years where the game is just fd. I will say though ive found it extremely difficult to get pressure on the elite teams with a lower team.

I agree, in a way, its quite the challenge and alot more realistic in sense that if you are truely trying to mix it up, each game plays differently against different teams, some teams you can run up the middle or between the tackles, some teams you can['t get outside right away, it seems as if you pound between the tackles in the first half, the second half you are able to get outside or vice versa and same with the passing game. I like it now, I htink it's the best game that has come out, but I do agree that the offense is deadly compared to a defense.

I am having trouble with my offensive line. No one blocks, they hit a huge for less than a second and then let them run past them. I had a goal-line situation in my week 2 game. a 4-3 LB blitz owned my Goal-line formation. Does anyone know if I need to do more line shifts, calls, or whatever? Ratings-wise my line isn't bad, they are all 80s overall
