only 4 qb's threw more than 30 tds

5 threw more than 40 ints

17 threw more than 30 ints

do we suck that badly or does ea need to adjust?

its tough to throw deep anymore. there is never a busted coverage deep.

DBs still can lock you down at times

Only one threw over 40 TDs AND 30 ints. ;)

I tossed 14 of the 26 picks I threw in my 3 losses, so ya I think its about adjustments as my numbers were respectable if you takes those 3 games away.

I m willing to bet a majority of most of the ints this year came against Man defense, and largely against cover 2 man.

As the man cover 2 defense has a tendency to mirror routes, so even when you think you have a step on a defender you don't, as the dbs or lb are inside and they make a play on the ball for int. And when the defense goes into mirror mode there is only about 3 routes sometimes 4 that get consistent separation for safe passes, otherwise it is usually a pick.

So I would say we have to adjust, but EA definitely needs to adjust their programing of man coverage.

This is the truth.

What are those 3 or 4 routes? I threw 8 picks one game (my worst ever) and I tried what I thought everything...Slants, In's, Out's, Corner and Fly routes, all of them resulted in at least one pick.

Which is why I docked the one coach who ran the scheme the entire game we played. It's ridiculous how "improved" the defensive AI is supposed to be in regards to them not breaking on passes they can't see. I guess they can see everything now, is what they meant.

I assume Hooks/Curls have to be one...

Timing is key. User catching and ball placement as well.

I would say nearly all my INTs came against man. Probably 80% or more. That said, I felt like I was looking at man at least 65-75% of the time in games.

To me that's not really surprising. What, we were half way through the season before the defensive AI update came out? Even after that I think zone was easily exploited. Seems like I constantly gave up first downs whenever I ran zone. Guys were open all over the place, middle of the field, outs, etc. I did mix in zone when on defense because I knew I'd get dinged in my CR's if I didn't, but I cringed every time I picked a zone play.

Same here. I would say 80% of the zone plays I picked ended up in big pass plays...mostly to a TE lol. Zone in this years game is not good against the run or pass. At least not with my team. IDK what its like with a team like Miami where most the defensive backfield has higher zone D ratings the man D ratings...

I wouldn't say zone was easily exploited. I threw plenty of incomplete/batted passes against it. But it definitely wasn't as good as man and it has improved. It is about 10000x better than it was in 11.

My DBs were so bad that I couldn't rely on one type of defense over another. My only hope was that the other guy would be confused by what he saw and either throw a bad pass or hold on to the ball for the minimum of 8 seconds that it would take my D-line or a blitzer to get to the QB.

zone is not that bad.. maybe because Im Oregon but I played about 75% to 80% zone D, and I would manage to get stops.. I managed to give up big plays as well, but I actually feel Zone played the run way better then man.

Do any of you guys that have a problem with the zone coverage mix in some aggressive or conservative settings? Mix it up.

No, I never have.
