As another season comes to an end in the NDL, I have compiled a 5 person list as to who I feel should be our heisman. It's still up for grabs and these final days will show us the true Heisman of season 14.
5. Matthew Stafford – Quarterback - Georgia
Stats
Passing: 214-298, 3388 Pass Yards, 34 Touchdowns, 18 Interceptions.
Cracking the number 5 spot on the list is Georgia's Quarterback Matthew Stafford. Matthew had an incredible year for coach AJAlves and the Bulldogs, but it wasn't quite number one spot material. Leading Georgia to a 9-3 record, the NDL and the Media had high expectations for the dogs and unfortunately they couldn't achieve them. Stafford had a solid year finishing with 3388 passing yards and 34 touchdowns. His only real knock was his high interception amount (18). Stafford doesn't have the luxary of a championship game so I expect him to finih 5th in voting.
4. Michael Crabtree – Wide Receiver – Texas Tech
Stats:
Receiving: 61 Catches, 1278 Yards, 19 Touchdowns
No one can deny the pressence Michael Crabtree has when he is on the field. He is a warrior among men, unfortunately he finishes at number 4 on my list. 19 touchdowns is incredible, but that isn't even the highest on the list. 1278 yards on 61 catches is mind bottling (20YPC) but unfortunately right now Tech sits at 8-3 and not going to the Big 12 Championship. Crabtree will most likely have fun in the Cotton Bowl but for now, he must wait another year before he gets his chance at the Heisman.
3. Jeremy Maclin – Wide Receiver – Missouri
Stats:
Receiving: 65 Catches, 1483 Yards, 21 Touchdowns
Special Teams: Punt – 14-292 Yards, 2 Touchdowns, Kick- 12-604 Yards 3 Touchdowns
Jeremy Maclin is currently number three on my Heisman list, but the ball is partially in his court. Only one of my top two picks has a championship game, and depending on how they fair, will determine how Jeremy Maclin will fair. If Missouri beats Oklahoma which is definitely a possibility, and the other game doesn’t go as well, Maclin could jump to number one. Maclin has an incredible year for Coach Nole, 65 catches for 1483 yards (22.8YPC) and 26 total touchdowns (5 from special teams). Maclin still has a game at hand plus the Conference Championship to pad his resume, but eyes will definitely be watching in Kansas City when the Tigers host the Sooners, as that will be his audition for the #1 spot.
2. Jahvid Best – Running Back – Cal
Stats:
Rushing: 1775 Rush Yards, 15 Touchdowns
Unfortunately, this is the highest that Best will get. Cal has had an incredible season, and if it wasn’t for Cal they would be in the BCS Championship game, but nothing can be done about that now. Jahvid Best has had an incredible season for the Cal Bears. Finishing off with 1775 rushing yards and 19 total touchdowns, his only flaw was ONE fumble he lost all season. That’s incredible for a half back, especially in the Pac-10. Unfortunately for Best, he doesn’t have a championship game, so it’s more than likely he will fall to #3 on my charts because Jeremy Maclin has one game in hand to shine in the Big 12 Championship. Halfback of the year though no question.

Stats
Passing: 172-216, 3344 Pass Yards, 39 Touchdowns, 7 Interceptions
The number one pick was almost expected. What more can be said about Bigmike and the job that he has done in Florida. Many expected the Florida Gators to be solid this season and Tim Tebow brought his A game once again. He went into the toughest conference in the NDL and had success.Tebow this season, he finished off with 3344 passing yards, a total of 43 touchdowns and only 7 interceptions leading his Florida Gators to 11-1 with a SEC championship game coming up this week vs. Alabama. With the win, Florida would be going to the BCS Championship most likely and they will be led by who I feel is, the Heisman Winner, Tim Tebow.
