...To Jacksonville, and becoming a member of NDL:F

As a few of you know, I accepted a position today with IDS Sports http://www.ids-sports.com I'll be an event manager in the golf department. Basically, we sell technology pieces to PGA golf events, and then I go and manage the pieces that we have sold to each event. The company wrote the shotlink scoring program that the PGA tour uses. They're also the official scoring provider of the NHL and NBA, and work with the WTP and WTA tours, and crossfit. We do all of the scoring for all 4 golf majors (yes, Augusta) as well as many other tour stops.

I'll be traveling a lot, so Pino, I will be hitting you up for all your of your hotel and mileage reward program hints. I need to get some points so I can fly the fiance' back home to visit family.

I'm super excited and have been looking for this kind of job for quite a while. This was finally the perfect fit. I know Fiesty lives in Jacksonville, but other than that, I'm not sure about other NDL'ers other than Corey and Shel down in Orlando. I already promised the fiance' a trip to Harry Potter world (shoot me now) and we have to go to O-town to get some stuff at Ikea, so I'm sure I'll be in the area a time or two.

No word yet as to whether any of the Philadelphia Cheesesteak minor league teams will be making the move as well.

Got a new job, and got to go to the Cavs home opener all in the same day, needless to say, it was quite a day!

AJ and Dave are down in FL too, along with Nole.

I expect Jaguars gear shipments once per season, I'm sure you will find some on clearance for me

Congrats Dan. Sounds like an a awesome gig. Sounds like a dream job dealing with competative events for a living.

I'll put some thoughts together as far as business travel advice and how I've approached it over the years.

AJ, Corey and Shell are probably the next closest to you with Noley in The Tampa area and Riccio in South Beach. I think Oracle is somewhere around St Pete as well.

It's Cleveland... Not sure what Florida people have against Jax, but it's certainly an upgrade over Cleveland!

Jacksonville is a long ways from me, i've never been

Been down there a few times, seems really nice. The lack of state income tax is very nice, and housing is quite affordable. We're getting a 3 bed room apartment that is nicer than our current 2 bedroom up here for roughly the same price per month too. Cost of living is almost exactly the same as our area in Cleveland

congrats seeit, jax is very affordable. Was looking at moving there around 2008 and was very surprised how close we could get to the beach (if you're into that)

definitely some great areas that are probably decently price, just do your research if you havent already...a few very shady neighborhoods as well as with all places

and dont be fooled by the "Florida's largest city" slogan if they still run that.....it is....but in incorporated sq miles....not actual number of people or things
