Sister in law just finished first year pitching for softball team at local JuCo, has a potential offer for full ride at University of Tennessee-Chattanooga.
Anyone know anything about the area/city/school I can't just learn on Wikipedia?

Re: Chattanooga, TN
Beautiful town. Really solid school for a few things like PT (at least was). Close to everything. Lakes, rivers, camping if she likes that scene or you are an 1hr 30 from Atlanta. Really fun town.

Re: Chattanooga, TN
It would be a big move going from SoCal to Tennessee for her. That being said it seems like a good opportunity. Her parents have some concern over crime statistics they read online. Seemed like bad metrics for the area. The JuCo recruiting stuff is odd too. It's her first D1 offer and likely wouldn't be the last, but you don't get necessarily get several on the table to choose from. Right now it's this or finish out second year at school and join the bigger pool looking to transfer into the next level.
Re: Chattanooga, TN
If she is serious about playing and getting school paid for she takes it. Sit around and wait for better opportunities that will not necessarily come her way is a mistake

Chattanooga was a pretty rough city but over the last 10-15 years they have restored a bunch of the neighborhoods and it's been one of the fastest growing cities in the southeast. Most likely those crime statistics are skewed, I travel there a lot and I love it. Beautiful city in the mountains, I say she loves it. I do not know anything about the school though.dakshdar wrote:It would be a big move going from SoCal to Tennessee for her. That being said it seems like a good opportunity.
