Realignment Format Poll
Realignment has passed 15-11. I am not waiting for the 4 who have not voted, I spent all day yesterday messaging guys trying to get all votes accounted for. So, here are the two options for realignment. Even if you voted no or have some other idea one of these two are going to happen so it is best to vote if you want to have a say in the process.
The poll will be open for today or until there is a clear winner then we will proceed in to the drafting portion so we can get on with the offseason.
Option 1: The divisions will stay in the same format and 24 teams will be randomly drawn from a hat to get the draft order. Then they can choose the division they would like to be in. The 6 teams that will be placed in divisions to start without a draft will be:
AL East: Boston
AL Central: Sheltown
AL West: Richmond
NL East: Washington
NL Central: Alabama
NL West: OCD
Option 2: There will be two divisions per league. We will just go with AL East/West and NL East/West. The two division winners will get the byes and 4 wild card teams. This format will balance the schedules a little better so that teams are playing closer to equal schedules and will still reward a team for winning its division. This one will have 26 teams randomly drawn to pick and the 4 teams placed in divisions to start the draft will be:
AL East: Boston
AL West: Richmond
NL East: Washington
NL West: OCD
As I explained in the OP for the realignment poll these two would be the options for realignment so lets not bog down this thread with a bunch of other stuff. The idea for this realignment was to generate some excitement for the league and to try and make small changes to balance schedules out and this should accomplish that. Everyone please vote asap.

Re: Realignment Format Poll
So..realistically, option #2 would end realignment from ever happening again. Right?
Re: Realignment Format Poll
It will for at least 10 seasons lol. Then we shall see. Hard to keep everyone happy much longer than a decade

Re: Realignment Format Poll
I voted
But I also think we should have got the last 4 guys votes prior to proceeding as it could have been a tie and realignment wouldn't happen.

I sent everyone messages and its been over 24 hours. If guys do not check boards or Slack I am not waiting a week for them to answer and if I did we would never get anything done. The poll has now been up for over 2 days

Re: Realignment Format Poll
Vote guys, vote vote vote. If a few more go 2 division we can pretty much wrap this up and get started on a draft process
Re: Realignment Format Poll
2 divisions is dumb. 8-7, 8-7, uneven again.
Re: Realignment Format Poll
hmm, nick the voice of reason, I didnt even think about that.nick wrote:2 divisions is dumb. 8-7, 8-7, uneven again.
Re: Realignment Format Poll
What does it matter if they are uneven? I thought of that and could not think of a big reason it would impact much

Re: Realignment Format Poll
I thought a vote for something like realignment needed super majority? 60%

Re: Realignment Format Poll
the 2 division thign is so stupid. to ensure they get byes. 2 of the 3 division winners already get byes. What if Sheltown/Boston were in division 1 of 2, and they finished with the top 2 records.. Sheltown would still be getting screwed over. it doesnt change a thing

But we still sweep Boston out of the playoffs.nick wrote:the 2 division thign is so stupid. to ensure they get byes. 2 of the 3 division winners already get byes. Re: Realignment Format Poll
Nobody ever said the 2 division thing was to fix seeding. It was just something Ted said and people liked

sounds like a 1 division per league would fix this.nick wrote:the 2 division thign is so stupid. to ensure they get byes. 2 of the 3 division winners already get byes. I am more interested in the scheduling of 2 divisions. Do we play our division foes an equal amount if we are in the 6 team division compared to the 7 team division.
