I'm getting a new phone (AT&T is my carrier), any ideas? I don't need an iphone, but was looking at another touch screen one, Samsung Eternity. Anyone have this?

$99 for an iPhone... get an iPhone. Any other phone you will get with a touchscreen will run you at least that so don't deny yourself the pleasure and just get the iPhone.

Don't listen to him. Buy any LG or Nokia phone. LG Xenon is outrageously good if you like messaging. As a two-time Samsung owner, stay away.

You could COMBINE the experience these guys have with mobile phones and it would be half of mine.

iPhone is a very good phone. LG and Nokia make great phones. Samsung makes a great phone if you like to play three-card monte.

1. Mine can't but that is because I bought a $400 fucking brick even though it is more powerful than an iPhone spec-wise.

2. An iPod is the third-best mp3 device out there, so that's not saying much.

No and yes. Remember, I run a restaurant. For two years now, I've been playing with everyone else's. I love phones and play with everybody's. I am also a geek and have twenty years of experience dealing with Apple. They are a customer-last kinda company.

Good phone, pretty phone, but great hype.

What are you guy with iphones paying per month? If I get one, I know the wife will want one so I'll have 2 iphones and 1 regular phone (my mom's).

This is probably a dumb question, but what does "jailbreak" the phone mean?

This is probably a dumb question, but what does "jailbreak" the phone mean?

its legal to do. you basically get shit free. every app that cost, i get for free. Kinda like illegal downloads but the good thing is, it's not against the law yet, or wont be for a good 4-5 years

I believe after you buy that phone ($99.00), your bill will be the same as it always has been with any other phone...assuming you already pay for internet/texting,etc..

My bill is around 120.00/month. Thats for 1400 minutes, internet, unlimited texting...thats with 2 phones on my plan...one iphone and one blackberry. I had two blackberries on the plan originally, upgraded one to the iphone recently...bill is still the same as before, I just had to drop $99 for the iphone and 30 for a carrying case. They wanted 30 for a car charger, dont buy that one. Go to wal-mart and get one, $15 there..

Stay away from LG and Samsung. Get the iPhone. You can't get a better phone right now and that price is a god damn steal.

If you are just getting a regular plan:

$30 for the data plan (this is required)

If you go with the basic calling plan, it's 450 anytime, 5000 n/w, $39.99 a month. That comes with free calling to any other ATT customers though, which enables me to use less than 200 anytime per month (so anybody you know with an iPhone, you're calling them for free).

If you go with unlimited texting (like me), it'll cost you $20 a month.

My bill after taxes runs me about $110 a month, but I get a discount through work (which now that I got let go, I hope they don't ever go cancel ) that knocks it down to about $70-80 a month.

As for a case, I got one of the free Otterbox cases that someone posted about on here, I love it. best case out there, easily.

Also, do NOT get the protective screen covers they sell at the ATT store. They suck. Get the Crystal Film, they sell it at the Apple Store. They aren't sticky, they use static cling, so you can wash them and re-use them. Two for $15.

These are bad ass. Stop the fingerprints and smudging as well. Great purchase.
