I'll need a few weeks too, to see if the Saints choke like they usually do.

See you then.

Saints just got busted on a fake FG for a TD by Buffalo.

I NEVER really understand how fake FGs work. Let the team have 3 points. Of course you wanna rush a few guys sometimes to try to get a block, but have some assignments to stop the fake.

It always amazed me personally how guys get so wide open on the fakes. Is it really worth selling out to block that 1 or 2 FGs per YEAR for a team?

WOW, Seatle's uniforms are horrible looking. It looks like they should be helping children crossing the street for school

Looking at my theory that you do NOT want to draft a quarterback that came from a great team in a great conference, here are the 32 starters for this week listed only by their school(s).

A rudimentary check shows that 23 of these schools haven't won their conference in a long time, two of the big name schools (Michigan and USC) are currently represented by their school's backup quarterback (Brady and Cassell), and there are four I-AA teams.

Conference USA represent, by the way!

Edit: USC has three which means there is an extra guy in there. Sorry.

I'd say more important than school they went to, is i'd NEVER take a QB in the top 10 under virtually any cirumstances.

Too money tied up into such a crapshoot, which is what it is when it comes to drafting QBs.

Although the Jets are doing their think with Sanchez, I agree with you. It is not cost-effective. I am old-school; you draft linemen. Interior linemen will win you games you should not win. Take a look at the Patriots/Giants Super Bowl. Tuck and Alford dominated the A-Gap and won that Super Bowl by themselves because they allowed the Giants to blitz nobody while still harassing Brady.

Meanwhile, the Lions have an All-Madden team and lose.

To make it worse, the Saints were in a safe FG formation it looked like. The dude on the outside had it covered and then he decided to rush the kicker and the guy went right behind him instead of staying in coverage.

When will Oakland give up on the Jamarcus Russell show? Anyone a fan of this guy as a QB?

Fuck protecting the quarterback rules!!

Trent Edwards running the ball, doesnt slide, gets hit right before he goes down, they call a penalty and i still have no clue why.

Blah.

I feel a TO flip out on Trent Edwards coming up.

He has zero catches, and at least 1 drop, I think maybe 2, IIRC.

He just got wide open on a streak on 3rd down that woulda went for a TD, but Edwards overthrew him.

If he goes catchless and Buffalo loses, shit could get real.

fun times at gillette stadium!

pros: beautiful stadium. the folks around me were nice. hilarious as well.

cons: the outcome. couldn't recover from the penalty on the jenkins touchdown. it was the right call, but if it were moss, it would have never been called.

cons X2: what's up witht he stinking train that goes out there? leaves at 11, supposed to arrive at 12. i was walking down the steps as the opening kickoff happened thanks to a late train and crazy lines at security because, as surprising as it would seem, if you drop off thousands of people late for a game, it will clog security. and the train back? took forever!

at any rate, big props to downing for hooking me up with tickets! had a great time!
