AJ is free and clear as he usually will play, same for Shel.

Nole, loves talking a good game but he gets beat by a C squad when he is an A team and he is "full".

Thanks for the tip.

i agree with you 100% on this. i play doc, victim, cougnix and rain every season regardless of who has which team. ive been on both ends of the spectrum, i just want to enjoy playing guys i know im going to have a great experience for the hour. i personally could care less about ranking or records. it just takes one shitty(win at all cost) play in a game to ruin a great game in my eyes.

BFiVL wrote:Never play for anything other than enjoyment. Been in this league for a long time and to be honest, shit like this is why I dislike ever being a "top" team. I care less about about top 25 . Go through all my posts, see if I ever bitch about any of that. My only goal is to keep Bama every year. Winning is a small part of that ( much bigger last Ncaa games now they are an A+). I do my recaps, stats, and have always done excellent on coaches reports.
Ill say this about as polite as I can, but fuck anyone for ever knocking my OOC. First off, if you are knocking my OOC, you think I schedule cupcakes cause I want to win. HORSESHIT. I schedule the people who I like and have played for almost 6 years now. The SEC is a bitch enough with the level of teams and coaches there heaven forbid I play guys who I enjoy shooting the shit with for an hour and not have to worry about win at all cost players for 4 games a year. I played Crowes for years when he had a better team. Played Hoos when he was equal or better while at Boise "Big Run" State.
This is a sim league right? Look at my schedules over the years and tell me that they are any different from Bama's in real life if you want to play that angle. 3 lower teams and a decent matchup for OOC. I have played PSU, ND, VA Tech, Boise all throughout the years. This year, Mizzou who is having just a shit year but is a top 25 team in the game and 3 cupcakes. I find that degrading as shit though to Hoos Gatorbytes, and Beefy who are all good fucking folk to play an A+ team with bad teams and not think twice about playing me.
I am sure its all in fun and everything, but I have seen several posts this season about my OOC and schedule and its just fucking tired.
no need to go on a tirade. If it was that big an issue, you would not get 99% of the first place votes. I know I said something but only to downplay your 1 apg average which is amazing regardless who you play. And as fans we do this in real life.

Just responding to the 2nd post made by UAWWW about me. I throw out enough shit to people who I like and from time to time folks I dont like. I can take shit, but like I said, folks have made an issue of my OOC in the past I felt the need to respond so people understand my position.

understood Uuaww is posting like a media head in these posts anyway. But Massey even agrees that playing in SEC makes the schedule anyway. Your next three are your toughest.

In my book, you get bonus points for voluntarily playing Hoos

the stigma of winning in this league is borderline ridiculous.

the goal is to have fun, play straight and win... in that order. you can 'want' to win and not be a prick about it. i've always wanted to win every season... i just happened to rather play with my team than have a great record with a random team. i don't think guys should be looked down on for caring about winning... but they should be if all they care about is winning. obviously i'm being extremely idealistic but i'd like to think that alot of guys who talk about polls and care about their rankings aren't all bad apples cause they want to do well.

we're adults, its a fun game and we try to be competitive. of course we all know there are bad apples and we've removed alot of them during the years. 80% of the guys there are no issues, occassionaly you find a guy that sucks to play and you learn from it and can punish him on the reports. but saying 'i don't care about winning' is insulting, imo, and not that much better than the win at all costs guy. why play if you don't want to win? the guys with that attitude i've found to be the guys that after every loss just automatically say 'that guy is a win at all cost guy' or 'this game is dumb' or whatever typical excuse you hear guys come up with.

please don't take what i'm saying out of context, i truly do understand what most of you are saying... i mean you can look at my career and see that i play with a team i normally had no shot of winning against and my ooc is usually against the same 5 or 6 guys each year. i get it... i didn't when i first came in the league and cared a little more about winning (even tho i sucked still) and i fixed up my game because of it. but don't confuse my 'fairness' in gameplay and 'loyalty' to my team for not wanting to win. i believe you can have a balance and i'd like to think we have a ton of guys in this league who have that balance.

Look, I am writing as a media head. I love writing these articles and I feel it adds to the league. Remember realism, why does biffy get shit? because he is Alabama, big teams get more media attention and more media bullshit.

Remember though, if I give teams shit for OOC (which I do, obvi) it is from a MEDIA perspective. I am not saying that you shouldn't, I don't care who you schedule, but that you didn't deserve the #1 ranking from an SOS point of view. I know you winning the NC isn't your top priority but you are sitting as the number one team and due to me making rankings based on SOS, who you beat and who you lost to, I don't feel you deserve to be #1. I stated my argument, I backed it up, and I was COMPLETELY aware I was going to receive shit for it.

But this is my article, it is my opinion. I feel shit like this adds to the league, including the arguments that come with it.

If you are a big team, it isn't all peaches and cream, you are going to be under pressure from the media, its the problems of being at a major school.

Just like in real life.

I still can't figure out which post you're talking about. The lose to Miss State and drop to 15+? Thats just based on being a 1 loss team with poor SOS.

Again, this was just a ranking table. I didn't look too hard at future scenarios. Looking at it now, if no one else played a game except you two, and you lost, I would drop you to #14, between Ohio State and Louisville.

Conversely, you beat Miss State, I move you up to #2 as it would increase your SOS to .358 and you would also have the biggest marquee win of any of the undefeated teams.

To echo Biffy's point, I share similar sentiments of what my "main goal" is every season: Keeping Virginia Tech

I'm a lifer & couldn't imagine playing anywhere else by choice. My SoS is what it is.

I play Hart & Nick every year (unless Nick is on his period & needs to take a season off). Outside of that, I try to get WVU on my schedule, considering they're a rival school, despite not playing them anymore in life. I also have 1 open spot which serves as a rotating chair -> generally reserved for people I've never played before or had rivalries with in the past.

Im sure we'd all rather win than lose. I mean, I have a pulse. But if I get a good straight game, and lose, then oh well. Saying that is insulting?

I think what Uuaww is doing is just putting the statistics into words. I'm sure Alabama's SOS will skyrocket after his next couple of games but right now it's low for #1. Personally, I vote Bama #1 because they've dominated that SOS. If he stumbles he'll fall but that depends who he stumbles to. I think Biffy took it as an attack because of past attacks but it wasn't meant that way. As long as this doesn't get to Jim Rome and Chris...I mean Jim Everett proportions it's all good.

is it any different really than if the real life Bama team played FAMU, Army and whoever in OOC wouldnt they pretty much be #1

i think we mean the same exact thing, we just say it differently.

when i hear guys saying, 'i don't care if i win or lose, i just want to have fun'... i mean of course we are playing to have fun first and foremost, but we should all want to win also as long as we don't compromise how we play to get those wins. like i said, maybe i'm just an idealist to think guys can be both mature and want to win... i'd like to think outside of a small handful, we've got that in this league.
