Questions regarding new 2013 rules changes

Post by Wasted Memory »

#1 - Conservative Clock Rule: a losing team may use the chew clock anytime after being down by 21, a winning team may use chew clock anytime after being up by 28. Does chew clock need to be turned off after losing team is down by less than 21 or, more importantly, winning team is up by less than 28 - barring being under 2 minutes left in the game of course.

#2 - Bar Ban: The Bar is banned period? Or can you turn it on make any necessary adjustments and then turn it back off? If you can make your adjustments and then turn it off does your opponent have a minimal amount of time they have to give to complete this?

in addition to that cna someone tell me WTH chew the clock is? This is an actual feature you can turn on or you mean just running the clock down before you snap the ball?

If you go under L1 adjustments while on offense you can set game play to conservative which runs off several seconds on the play clock after you call an offensive formation.

I definitely do not have all the audible stuff memorized, so I sometimes have to bring up the R3 bar in order to make that adjustment.

Hopefully it goes away when you dismiss it?

The, reasonably, if you had to use it to get an audible correct and then dismissed it after, there wouldn't be much cause for concern amongst (most) coaches I know.

I agree. But I'd like to see it in writing and then everyone understand that so I don't take hits on my coaches reports. I'm really going to need those this year if I want to try and keep Tennessee.

1a - No, if you are the losing team, and at any point are losing by 21 or more, you reserve the right to use chew clock for the remainder of the game. (Keep in mind, this applies to the LOSING team/coach only)
1b - The winning team once up by 28 reserves the right to use chew clock for the remainder of the game

***Keep in mind, you are playing a coach who is evaluating your gameplay on sportsmanship. If everyone uses common sense, they will know when to run the feature off and back on. If anyone is unsure, then dont alter your setting and risk your coaches report score***

2 - It is banned during ACTUAL gameplay (post snap or immediately prior to snap). The purpose just to not obstruct the opponents view. If you're making adjustments here and there and dismissing it in a timely fashion, it falls well within the rules

What the fuck is the "bar"? Are you all refering to the audible bar up top? I purposely use it cause I can't remember all that shit. Furthermore, are you all saying that EA allows it to be pulled up post snap? That's fucking retarded on numerous levels.

This to me seems that it is banned period then. If I'm playing defense and pull this up to make a quick adjustment how am I supposed to know if my opponent is going to snap the ball immediately or wait a few ticks of the clock first. Don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing for or against I just want to know the rule here. I think I'll be better off writing this stuff down and keeping the button pushing notes in front of me during game play instead of risking taking a hit on the CR's.

This seems to me to be an easy, effective and cooperative solution if anyone remotely thinks they are using or need to use it in a way that their opponent thinks excessive.

Hopefully EA will fix this with their next update and all this will be moot and can be viewed as a temporary fairness rule

I agree, I'll have to actually look at the handful of things I use. Nice EA, hope an update fixes it. WTF would it show up on your opponents screen?

OKS, its easy, when you head to the line as offense, if you want to call a quick audible then click right analog call your audible and click the right analog again to make it disappear.

It is rather distracting when it is up there constantly. I have also noticed playing other players online that if they are using strategy you can't see the results like you used to. However you can see the L2 menu pop up when they use it. Anyone else notice this?

You can only see the L2 popup menu when the game randomly glitches. Happened to me n stimp tonight in an od game. I could see him guessing run left, right, mid or playing pass and keying reciever. His L2 box stayed on my screen the whole time regardless of if he was adjusting anything. I knew he was adjusting cause i could see whatever he was choosing light up in yellow. Ie run left was quickly highlited yellow presnap. Once my offensive drive was over, and he was on offense, it went off my screen, and he could not see my L2 adjusment box on his ensuing offensive drive.

So basically you can tell if theyre guessing run or pass or whatever, and they would never know you could see it unless you say something. Very weird, and irritating esp cause that L2 box covers up 2-3 dbs depending on their defensive play call. So sick....in a bad way :|

How does ea manage to regress every single year? There always seems to be one thing each year that worked fine the year before but inexplicably broken in the next version. Remember when you could pick stadiums and weather for an online game?

thats not as important as being able to tell when your opponent is choosing audibles and adjusting players presnap

cause we cant see the QB pointing or hear him hollering the changes without the bar and boxes showing up...
