Hey nick, what % of Americans have died of COVID?
Re: COVID-19
96,900 / 330,790,544 = 0.000292935 or 0.029%
forgot a 0 my bad.

Re: COVID-19
So moving up to 4th grade, if the CFR is estimated at .4% for those with symptoms and diagnosed, what would be the estimated total CFR if an 35% are asymptomatic and go undiagnosed?
Re: COVID-19
this isn't making sense. i hate working in small percents
cause if you go by .2% then potentially 8.5 million people could die from Covid if every American got infected?
if you go 0.02 then 850k
if you go 0.002 then 85k (more than that already)
so these numbers project 850k could die if everyone got infected? thats still a lot of dead ppl. it doesnt even appear that there will be 850k since the summers coming and you guys are at 100k.
iunno, ill concede i suppose.

Re: COVID-19
It's pretty straight forward, do you not know how to extrapolate the numbers to get an estimated total CFR?
Sure, but not everyone is infected, so that's not really relevant at the moment.
Re: COVID-19
they need to make a vaccine or everyone will eventually be infected tho.

The 850k number wouldn't be reached even if everyone got it and it kills at a .02 rate.

Re: COVID-19
Nursing home deaths have accounted for 37% of all deaths (35,118). And the numbers are probably higher since all states are reporting deaths at nursing homes.

Fauci is on that reopen bandwagon
“I don’t want people to think that any of us feel that staying locked down for a prolonged period of time is the way to go,” Fauci said during an interview with CNBC’s Meg Tirrell on “Halftime Report.”
He said the U.S. had to institute severe measures because Covid-19 cases were exploding then. “But now is the time, depending upon where you are and what your situation is, to begin to seriously look at reopening the economy, reopening the country to try to get back to some degree of normal.”

MSNBC is the leaders in the mask wearing business.
Why is it necessary at an empty dirt speedway in Indiana that the reporter is wearing a mask.

If I'm reading that right, 1/3rd of deaths have been folks aged 85+ and there have been nearly as many deaths 85+ as there has been 74 and younger (27834 under 75)

And now Latin America has been named the new epicentre.nick wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 1:34 pm the lady yesterday in Toronto said (Iunno if shes Ontario Health Minister or Canada) that theyre finding out that asymptomatic people are not spreading it as much as they thought.. which explains nursing homes getting fucked up with recycled air and limited movement/nurses working on multiple patients and spreading it.
Unfortunately Latin America has not paid attention and while the US/Canada and Europe gets better they might be going through the issue we thought could happen if people didnt take it seriously.

Re: COVID-19

Despite deep concerns about China's handling of the pandemic, European leaders backed the WHO resolution calling for "a stepwise process of impartial independent and comprehensive evaluation, including using existing mechanisms, as appropriate to review experience gained and lessons learned" from the global response to Covid-19.
ya fuck that.
