i don't hate you guys, but for some reason your board love for each other gets on my nerves. And because you guys basically run this league, it's curious at best when decisions are made that always seem to favor you guys, or like in this example when something irrelevant is brought up just to help one of the "members."

The nepotistic nature of the league is just so high I can't see it happening without saying something because new people that haven't been here forever need to know.

And I don't mean to be overly critical because AJ has done a good job sans the knee-jerk reaction in the ACC championship thread (even if I wasn't involved, which I guess i wasn't cuz dealer would have gotten the nod).

It's not a conspiracy theory at all, but I'm gonna have to do more research on this and I don't have time at the moment.

Things that come to mind would be the NDL Championship discussion, which was along the same lines but clearly didn't happen now that Big Mike took care of business.

...others would be the conf. commisioners getting +3 (which is huge) for just writing a few things down over the season and checking at the end for stats/recaps as I haven't seen one person keep up with the p.o.t.w's & I recall you guys going crazy on me for saying this before.

Each season starts out with the CC's saying it's gonna be a great season and expect a lot, but you always add "we'll only be as active as you guys are," which is such a cop-out I can't even stand it. It's absurd to get such a bonus for doing such things that yes mean a lot to the league, but anyone with a mouse and the ability to count can take care of it in a few seconds yet it's seen as this job that deserves such a great distinction. I link this to you guys because I specifically remember you and your boy Corey saying that it wasn't required so you half-assing it is like a "gift" to us when that's the opposite way you should look at it, and everything was quickly quelled by the administration as soon as the debate came up.

Basically i don't hate you guys, i just think aside from the head commissioner everyone should be equal and that's not how it is with poll updaters/conf. commishes/ndl espn/farm players getting huge bonuses on their end-of-season #s. That's probably gonna be a huge reason why a large amount of ppl make their points this next season that shouldn't and it sucks for the league as a whole

If CC's really get 3 points for doing what they do....there should be a lot more action in the conf. threads. That is not meant for all CC's....some do great jobs...then others well my 5 year old daughter could replace ya.

How many complaints are there per season? Instead of complaining to a commish just do the coaching reports. Im not bothering a CC with a complaint that a guy rolled out 6 times a game...I'll just give them 2's and explain why.
I think they should do POTW, Its not hard...ten minutes a week to do this. Shit for 3 points a year Id do 2 confs. Write ups should be extra (makes the conf. better) but at least POTW to show some interest in the job the CC was awarded.

Once again, the league is what you make it, if you think there should be more write ups done than is required ( which until this season commishes were not required to do any write ups) then folks need to pitch in.

You think I started this thread so it would help Shel?!!? Last time I looked, we are in the NDL. We are the point in a season to start discussing championships, end of seasons polls, bowl games and shit like that.
The NDL section has been dead so I thought this would spark a little interest in the championship game which it did, amazing!

Doing conference write-ups and players of the week is NOT easy folks. I can honestly tell you that I put in about 2 hours a week into my Island Report. Back and forth between leaguedaddy and here, making opinions, looking at stats, etc. Shit isn't easy. I basically did it for my own enjoyment and would just KILL if I had just 1 other guy with me who would commit to the ENTIRE SEASON.

We do more than monitor, This season started new expectations for commishes and looking around the various conf boards with the exception of a few, everyone is doing what AJ laid out for us.

To be a commish, you gotta meet some big time goals ( i.e perfect coaches report for multiple seasons) its not an everyone should get a chance kind of job. Its a chance to reward ( and from reading these damn boards more like a punishment) for being what the NDL is about. Its not a favortism thing, look at the commishes, there aint one commish that hasnt been here for years. some have been here since day 1 season 1 and they know what this league should be and have earned the right to lead this league for however long they want as long as they continue to do their job. Were the duites of a commish easier until this season? I think so, but not so much now.

As for the CC stuff, which most members don't know about the bonus points:

3 extra points gives a CC a free 15% of seasons success so that makes up a conf. success goal that they don't make. It's certainly funny to see CCs pretty much always at the top of the draft because even great CRs won't make that much of a difference if you don't do your thing on the virtual gridiron. But then again all of us can't look for a picture in a recap/look to see how many carries a RB had in a game/tell someone thru AIM that they need to file their complaint in the comments section of the CRs
