I applied to be a CC, but wasn't chosen. I'm not even mad about it because I probably wouldn't have time, but I have said this before and stuff still hasn't changed. The CC picture is the same always when it could be so much better. As a CC, you've clearly spent so much time in this league that you should want to do the things uuaww does rather than having to get points for it because that is the wrong attitude.

I like the league and enjoy being in it, but it could be so much better

Having been on both sides of the CC discussion I can see the frustration felt by some members of the NDL but also I clearly know the expectations for CC. There is more is to it that meets the eye.

I think a few minor adjustments could be made to the CC position but it would take more effort from an admin and IDK how that would work. One idea is a CC can earn 1,2, or 3 points based on performance. Or the three points can be applied if they are drafting but not towards keeping a team. It does seem right now in the NDl alot of teams are being kept and if you look at some of the teams CCs have they are popular teams yet the team is being kept with the help of those three points most likely. There are some teams I know didn't meet their win goals nor did they defeat all their rivals yet between the possible 5 pts from team dynasty and the three points those teams will more than likely not be available.

However do know the teams that didn't meet their requirements this season won't get their dynasty points for the following season so if they don't meet the season success those teams will open. I think this is relatively realistic. If a coach has one bad season people are not happy but rarely are they fired immediately. If after another season not meeting success then most coaches in that position will be fired so really its a fair system if you extend your thinking beyond the current season.

Let it be clear here I am merely making suggestions and not being critical of the job. I spent many seasons as a CC. I enjoyed the job and its benefits. But, I will say the CC argument DOES go both ways. The write ups are time consuming and it is hard to want to sit and do a writeup when you look at your work and get little response to what your effort. And you do need to maintain a level of integrity in your play to continue as a CC. I simply just got tired of the writeups and decided for myself to become a member whose name is seen in light red.

So, if you don't like the CC setup make suggestions but don't belittle the CCs and bitch about favoritism. It sounds alot more like jealousy. It looks like living in Florida with the NDL guys is a blast and its pretty cool they've become friends.

Bama is a top 5 team and if you get to keep them with 7 wins its horse-sh!t. I dont care if you count the BANK points or the commish points. So with your 3 bonus points for being a commish its like you had a 10 win season.
So while others struggle and try to reach their win goals a commish can be 3 games short of their win goal...or really 4 cause of the other shit that comes into play.
If you look...Bama, VT, Fla., PSU well shit pretty much any commish can keep their team every year. Those teams are all probley 10 or more team win goals. Even if you play with Buffalo you still make your goal...just cause of the 3 extra points. People say Im crying over 3 points...Honestly I dont care about the points for myself...Ill do the job and give my bonus points to who ever coaches Western Kentucky. Im not trying to get a team and keep them for 20 years, let others play with their favorite team.

I was one of the original members of the NDL and remember when you came into the league in season 3. I was a commish, played with 3 teams (Utep, Kansas St. and Miami) look it up Eers in 88, Ank and Cokecanes was all me. Played in the farm as a ghost coach, Yet still had time to do little extra's for the NDL. So I know the job is not a back breaker...and if it is soooo hard step down.
I did apply for a commish this season, not cause of the 3 points, but because I enjoy doing articles for my conf. Shit I did a all conf. team for the SEC...not because I wanted 3 points or the reconition for it...But because I enjoy it and thought the SEC members would enjoy it too.
As a commish you should do POTW and some articles, that makes the league more fun and better for all. Sure i know you all might not have the time...but if that is the case give up the position...I bet there is 10-15 guys that would take a commish job...not for the points or to see their name in green, but just for the enjoyment of helping the league out.

Those bank points will help you 1 year and they should, but another 7-5 year for a 10+ win goal, and it'd be tough to keep that team.

And also I think a lot of posters here are forgetting the 40/40/20 concept and ONLY focusing on wins and losses.

Maybe these coaches are being rewarded for all there participation and 100% coaches reports, since those 2 things are twice as important as win goals.

Let's not lose sight of that fact.

fuk it, i wont keep ohio state even if i could with bank points or not....just on principle...(which i dont have alot anyhow this being my 5th season).......And i would do a commish job points or no points, i think this is by far the best league out there, and it helps make the NDL the NDL!

i been trying to be a commish since forever and this was the only season I felt I might beable to do it.....Well i didn't make it but was given the NDL ESPN but passed on it

I think the NDL has raised a high demand on Media so yeah i think it should get points for sure since it is also a huge part of the NDL

members have a demand so we need to supply to meet the need

I say create and layout who is what and how many points they get

NDL leader (1 person) - 5 points

Conference Commish (12 spots) - 3 points

NDL Farm Ghost (6 spots) - 2 points

NDL ESPN (3 spots) - 2 points

Its hard as hell to write shit up when people cant even get in games. Why do you play in this league if you cant play 2 games a week??? I work 10 hr days 5 days aweek, have a 2yr old and wife. Im busy but I find my time to get 2 hrs set aside and play. Its the most ridiculous thing in the world. I admit I lost interest in my commish duties as far as write ups go and that because some weeks I had 2 guys that played their games. I dont expect shit for what I have done. I get to chose from 4 teams. WTF is that. I play in the farm not for points but to help the new guys out. This league was never about points and who kept teams. "THIS IS A DYNASTY LEAGUE". Step up if you want the points. If not shut up. We are grown adults playing a video game. We are crying like my 2 year old when he is hungry over 3 points. Unreal. If you dont like the rules that have been in place since day 1 take your ball and go home.

Exactly what I was trying to point out.

The win goal makes up 20% of what you need to keep your team.

Guys are focusing al there attention on such a small percentage of points and totally not factoring in your participation and your coaches reports which are probably 100%.
