"The U" - Univ. of Miami
Went there out of high school in '95, but only got to stay for my freshman year because I was a little distracted with all the "sights"
Georgia Tech
Not as much a fan of the football team, but the school overall. Was a big fan going back to the days of Kenny Anderson, Dennis Scott and Brian Oliver (Lethal Weapon 3). Actually chose Miami over GT coming out of high school due to the beach and because Miami accepted me first.

College Football its Nebraska Cornhuskers all day long.
College Basketball (since its about to start) Creighton Bluejays
I do follow Ohio and Buffalo because of the ties to Nebraska football. I dont think I'll be rooting for Buffalo for too long because Turner Gill will get a nice job offer in two years.

The University of Wyoming Cowboys!!! Born and raised in Wyoming and both parents are graduates, looking back, I wish I would have gone to school there as well.

Florida Gators
I got dressed one fine morning and in the drawer was a 1984 Gators SEC championship t-shirt. Of course UF was stripped of that SEC Title, but it never changed my feelings for the team and it will never matter who plays for them, who coaches them, and how good / bad they do.
I BLEED ORANGE & BLUE.

Re: Who Is Your Team??
Oh boy... I went through a similar rundown to this on whatifsports.com recently.
College Football: Penn State
- I've been a fan since I can remember watching football. (2nd/3rd grade.) I have family that is alumni. Also, living in the Dayton, Ohio area, I absolutely can't stand Ohio State fans.
College Basketball: Cincinnati
- I love Hugs, I'll admit it. Mick is doing a solid job though. (I've also ventured down for a few Bearcat football games.) I used to watch them on the 1st tv I had in my bedroom, around 9-10 years old, using a coat hanger to pickup the Cincinnati Fox Channel over the air.
Other teams I pay attention and tend to root for:
College Football:
Notre Dame - ND was the first team I consistently watched on TV. I could never find the Penn State game on (living in OSU country, with basic cable at best) My peewee football team ran the wishbone offense and it was great to see Tony Rice and the fellas doing it on TV.
Tennessee - Started paying attention to them when Heath Shuler was running around like a maniac. Kept watching through the Manning/Martin years and still try to find them on the tube when I can. It probably doesn't hurt that I despise Florida. Lane has been entertaining as well.
(old) Nebraska - I always enjoyed Tommie Frazier and the power I option offense.
(old) WVU - Major Harris v. Tony Rice... I could watch that for a week straight, no sleep!
(new) Georgia Tech - I vote that a GTTV channel be created with nothing but reruns of the current week's game!
Most ironic pairings: I enjoy watching South Carolina and I genuinely pull for Steve Spurrier. As much as I HATE Florida, I've always respected the OBC. Even more disgusting... I'm a HUGE Tebow fan. /facepalm
COLLEGE BASKETBALL:
North Carolina - Everyone had to pick a team growing up... Duke, Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas... how could you not go with Eric Montross? He had mad skills right?

Re: Who Is Your Team??
WVU - I grew up in West Virginia since I was around 3 months old. I remember fondly the '88 and '93 teams, and wonder what would have been had the Maj not gotten hurt against ND. I also have been a season ticket holder since the '04 season, and attended all the games there since around '97. I've been to every bowl game since '02. I have a BS and 2 MS from the University, so I'm definitely tied there.
I have also been a student at one time or another at these institutions:
Tennessee - went there my freshman year
Marshall - went there one semester when I was taking a break from college life, and I'm a graduate student there now.
Akron - attended law school there.
Kansas - did a semester in Italy and my accreditation was through Kansas.
I'm a die hard WVU fan, but I root for the other schools if they aren't playing WVU.

I'm about to graduate from The University of Texas at Austin.
Also like UGA-- sister went there for a year and i'll root for the RI schools (Brown/PC/URI) if they ever do something of interest (which is rare)

Well from Minnesota and so that makes me a fan of the Golden Gophers. It has been difficult being a fan when your games were in the dumpy dome. The new TCF Bank Stadium is sweet.
I also like Notre Dame since Lou Holtz left the Gophers to coach Notre Dame.

Re: Who Is Your Team??
Two main teams I root for no matter what...
Cal Bears and Texas Tech..
when they play each other, I just dont know.. Just hope for a great game.. If one is possibly playng for a lot more then the other.. of course I root for that one. I like to see them both suceed.
Texas Tech because I went to school there my first 2 years out of HS.. Was there when Leach first got hired, and Klingsbury was the qb.
Cal, I went there for about 1 1/2 after changing majors, and I have been living in the area for about a total of 5.5 years. Still attend off and on.
Other teams I casually root for, because I grew up liking them as a Kid.
Football.. the Hurricanes and FSU..
Basketball... Michigan.. almost went there for school until I realized it is just too cold.
And I pay attention to how UofH is doing since I grew up in Houston.
