No Longer Counting Sacks as TFL
No Longer Counting Sacks as TFL
As some of you know, I am a maniac about stats and the integrity in keeping them. Thus, I have decided to not award my players with a TFL if they get a sack, even if EA does so, as that is not how it is done in college (or even the pros, I think). I don't know how many people want to do that as well, but I'd figure I'd put it out there.

I never knew that. Way to go EA.

I've know about it forever but never bothered to question it. After seven versions of the game, I am tired of "lying" and won't do it anymore.

Re: No Longer Counting Sacks as TFL
I'll ask my friend about it later on today. I was always under the impression that it does not.

I don't feel like looking, but if you can find a guy with more tackles for loss than sacks, you have your answer.

Re: No Longer Counting Sacks as TFL
I didn't really research this, but found it in about 30 seconds:
"A tackle is known as a quarterback sack when the quarterback is tackled behind the line of scrimmage while attempting to throw a pass. A tackle for loss indicates a tackle that causes a loss of yardage for the opposing running back or wide receiver. A sack does not count as a tackle for loss."

Re: No Longer Counting Sacks as TFL
personally, i could give a shit about stats. Im here for good friendly games.....tfl or sack......
Re: No Longer Counting Sacks as TFL
Yeah, this is odd. I always thought that sacks do not count as tackles for loss and I've seen two references saying such, but you are right, not a single player had more sacks than TFL.shel311 wrote:I don't feel like looking, but if you can find a guy with more tackles for loss than sacks, you have your answer.
