"What Impact Will This Have on the Psyche of the Defense"
"What Impact Will This Have on the Psyche of the Defense"
re: Belichick's call.
I am of the belief that this idea is one completely made up by fans and the media who have zero idea what the fuck they are talking about.
Any thoughts?

I would agree if there wasn't so many analysts who were former players saying it.trendon wrote:I am of the belief that this idea is one completely made up by fans

What impact did a 17 point 4th quarter lead being brought to 6 factor into Bellichicks decision?shel311 wrote:I would agree if there wasn't so many analysts who were former players saying it.trendon wrote:I am of the belief that this idea is one completely made up by fans

That doesn't really have anything to do with my point, lol.Matt90210 wrote:What impact did a 17 point 4th quarter lead being brought to 6 factor into Bellichicks decision?shel311 wrote:I would agree if there wasn't so many analysts who were former players saying it.trendon wrote:I am of the belief that this idea is one completely made up by fans

I am sort of with you but when there are the Fowlers of this world who sound more intelligent than the coach/player co-hosts, I am not so sure about how much stock to put into former players anyway.shel311 wrote:I would agree if there wasn't so many analysts who were former players saying it.trendon wrote:I am of the belief that this idea is one completely made up by fans

If it has ANY impact they need to shut their faces and quit acting like girls and dominate the next time out.
Geez, give me a break.

Re: "What Impact Will This Have on the Psyche of the Defense"
to me it's a vote of no confidence in the defense, but at that point I wouldn't have had confidence in them either.
I doubt I would have gone for it, but I can at least understand the reasoning behind it.
...ESPN analysts aside from Herbie/Palmer/Dykes/Gottlieb/Bilas/Showalter all disappoint me with their lack of insight into a game they played/coached

Another idiot fan "truism" I like is "they are more desparate." Gamblers like that one.
Re: "What Impact Will This Have on the Psyche of the Defense"
my thought is, either way Peyton still had to score. Whether it be 30 yards or 60, he still had to score. 2 mins left, and 1 timeout.
Re: "What Impact Will This Have on the Psyche of the Defense"
the call on 4th and 2 will have no impact on the Psyche of the Defense. to be honest, I dont think the defensive side of the ball even figured into his decision at all.
I think the thought process was keep the ball regardless. The Pats have gone for it on 4th and 1 against the Falcons earlier this year right in the same part of the field. Its not out of character. If anything, the execution of the play was out of character. Besides the spot being incorrect, Brady could have hit Welker right in the middle of the field for an easy first down.
