Advanced to Week 3

+ Cal, Alabama, Minnesota, and Nebraska with a BYE week

+ Buffalo will look to rebound after a big time loss at West Virginia. Hawaii could be in some serious trouble! Look for Marvin Butler and Adrian Clark to run past the defense on multiple occasions

+ The Orange host TCU and will look to see if they can avoid another year plagued by a slow start. Junior QB Sam Smith leads the way, throwing for over 500 yards and 5 touchdowns in their season opening loss. If Syracuse can find any sort of defensive consistency, they could be a force in the Big East.

+ Early season test for the Spartans of Michigan State as they host Notre Dame in the battle for the Megaphone. Look for the Irish to generate some pressure on QB Troy Thomas, who was sacked 6 times in the opener. This will be a tough test for the Spartans, a team who likes to sling the rock around against hands down the best secondary in the nation. Brent Stephens and the Sparty D could be the difference makers in this one.

Players of the Week
HB - Jeremy Lewis - Alabama - SEC - Week 2
HB - Neil Tate - Cal - PAC 10 - Week 2
MLB - Beau West - Cal - PAC 10 - Week 1

Advanced to Week 4

+ Minnesota is the lone team with a BYE week

+ Alabama off to a fast start, hopes to open SEC play with a bang. With SEC defenses surely preparing for Jeremy Lewis, will the Crimson Tide be able to find consistency at QB?

+ Buffalo shook off the cobwebs in week 3 versus Hawaii, and seems primed for another big year. Their defense will really be put to the test against the Run N Gun Red Raiders offense

+ Fresh off a big time win over TCU, the Orangemen look to continue the success against #13 Oklahoma State. Sam Smith has shown that he can light up any defense at will, but the key will be to limit the turnovers and play more efficiently.

+A week after losing the Megaphone trophy to Notre Dame, the Spartans of Michigan State travel down south to face Ole Miss. A loss would really send the Spartans spiraling going into Big 10 play, so look for them to come out ready to play.

+ Nebraska used a big second half to put away UCLA in their season opener. They'll have to be perfect for 4 quarters if they want to take down #1 Miami in the National Game of the Week. Mario McBride was outstanding versus the Bruins so expect the Huskers to be forced into relying heavily upon the Senior signal caller.

Players of the Week
HB - Joe Walker - Big East - Week 3
HB - Neil Tate - Cal - PAC 10 - Week 2
HB - Jeremy Lewis - Alabama - SEC - Week 2
MLB - Beau West - Cal - PAC 10 - Week 1

Advanced to Week 5

+ "Run Lewis Run!" are the chants coming from Tuscaloosa as the Crimson Tide faithful wonder just how far their Heisman hopeful can take them. Next up for Alabama is 3-1 South Carolina.

+ Back to their dominating ways, Buffalo hosts conference foe Western Michigan. Quarterback Ryan Jones is on a "Hotstreak" after his 14-14, 4 TD performance versus Texas Tech

+ Easy isn't a word the Orange are familiar with. It won't get any "easier" versus #10 and undefeated West Virginia. Sam Smith will look to bounce back from a 5 interception performance that ultimately cost his team the game, a 3 point loss to #12 Syracuse. All American Josh Goodman was terrific and will get the attention of many defensive coordinators from here on out.

+ Hopefully back just in time to face #19 Purdue will be coach Buckeye of the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The team is still a bit of an unknown, spending the past 2 weeks on the practice field. They'll have their hands full against a very talented Boilermaker receiving corp (5 84+ OVR). Look for the Gophers to utilize their speed at the running back position to keep the opposing offense off the field.

+ How the mighty have fallen. 2 years removed from a 12 win campaign, and 20 wins over the past 2 seasons, Michigan State sits at 1-2 and look to be in serious trouble. A non existent run game, porous o-line, and inability to get the ball down field have plagued the Spartans early on. Sophomore RB Brent Stephens tweets "@TerrellOwens I feel ya pain big homie".

+ A strong run game and creating turnovers should be any team's recipe for success. Nebraska is just doing it better than any other team out there right now. 2-1 Kansas could be in trouble as they lost their only other game versus a ranked opponent...by 16 points. Will Husker signal caller Mario McBride win Uuaww's vaunted interception challenge?

+ #4 USC travels to #5 Cal in the National Game of the Week. Look for the Bears to get busy versus the Ketchup and Mustards in front of a slew of recruits. Loaded as usual with just a handful of positions starting a player under 90 OVR, Cal will have their work cut out for them. Look for the versatility of the Bears backfield to play a major role in this clash of the titans

Players of the Week
HB - Jeremy Lewis - NCAA - Week 4
SS - Matt Jackson - Big 12 - Week 4
OLB - Alex Williams - MAC - Week 4
HB - Joe Walker - Big East - Week 3
HB - Neil Tate - Cal - PAC 10 - Week 2
HB - Jeremy Lewis - Alabama - SEC - Week 2
MLB - Beau West - Cal - PAC 10 - Week 1

Things started out very sketchy for the Huskers in the 1st half vs. Kansas, turnovers and penalties killed an already sluggish looking offense. Kansas led 17-7 at half with momentum in their favor and the Lincoln crowd already beginning to quiet.

Nebraska opened the 2nd half on a 92 yard kickoff return for score CB Paul Harris, and the Huskers never looked back. The defense ignited and kept the Jayhawks off the board while the Huskers scored 35 unanswered 2nd half points.

Bama rallies from a 21-3 defecit and defeats South Carolina 35-28 in double overtime.

Mr Lewis had a pretty descent game , rushing for 195 yards and a couple of scores .

The Tide also got solid play from true fresh wideout Phil Williams who hauled in a pair of touchdowns

Advanced to Week 6

+ Averaging nearly 46 points per over a 3 game stretch, the Buffalo offense has caught fire. Over that span the ground attack has averaged well over 200 yards a game. One red flag however is Quarterback Ryan Jones most recent performance, a 4 interception day that kept Western Michigan in it. The Bulls should be able to work out any remaining kinks against the 95th ranked defense of Akron.

+ Surging up the polls all the way to #10, Nebraska has to be salivating over a match up with winless Iowa State. The Cyclones are near the bottom in every offensive category. The Huskers, led by standout defensive end Aaron Clark should get plenty of chances to pin back their ears and do work in the Iowa State backfield.

+ Which Michigan State team will we get this week? In their 2 wins they've outscored their opponents by nearly 50 points. This is make or break time for the Spartans as they 5th ranked Wolverines come into town. The stingy Michigan defense will do their best to prevent the upset, but Michigan State has all the motivation in the world to win this one. Tell Will Shuler I said what up

+ A tough loss to open Big 10 play, the Minnesota Gophers will have to dig deep to take down the Nittany Lions in Happy Valley. One thing going for Minnesota is that Penn State is too having a down year, and can't seem to hold onto the ball. The jury is still out on which direction the Gophers are going.

+ Truly a Jeckyll and Hyde team, the Orange are coming off an impressive win over previously undefeated West Virginia. Look for a more balanced Syracuse team to take UConn to the woodshed in this rivalry game.

+ Despite 2 contests going to overtime and 4 relatively close games, Alabama isn't on upset alert quite yet. Lewis and Co. should have a field day versus the 118th ranked defense in the country. Kentucky will need to pull a rabbit out of their hat to stay within 2 scores.

+ #1 vs #2 in terms of scoring offenses will be on display in Tempe, AZ this week. With no real superstars, the Cal Bears continue to find a way to win by keeping everyone involved. For the Sun Devils it's clear who their man is, Senior Antoine Ford. The Quarterback leads an explosive offense, and has thrown 10 TDs to just 1 interception all year.

Players of the Week

Pure disaster for the Cal Bears who give up 10 points in under a minute to lose to the Arizona State Sun Devils. Adding insult to injury is losing Quarterback Tim Archer for 9 weeks. Antoine Ford was as good as advertised, going 26-32 for 316 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Alright boys, lets gets the chaos in the BCS going by knocking off some of the top teams. Feel free to lose a couple games yourselves :)

Notre Dame hosts Michigan in the Battle for the Paul Bunyans Trophy. Michigan owned ND early as 2 tipped passes led to INTS by Michigan. Michigan ran one back for a TD and the other to the 10 yard line where SR QB Cedrick Williams would keep the option and go in from 3 yards.

After 3 quarters Michigan led 14-0.

Thats when the Spartans woke up. First scoring on a 4 yard pass from Thomas to Barber. Then after a quick INT by the Spartans, RB Brett Stephens would punch one in from 4 yards to tie the game.

MSU would force a quick 3 and out with 1:47 left on the clock. On consecutive pass attempts THomas completed passes of 15,10,19, 8, 27 to get ot the 3 yard line. MSU Would take a knee to force the TO from Michigan and would eventually punch it in from 2 yards out with 10 seconds on the clock.

Troy Thomas would end up with 26-39 372 1 TD 3 INTS.

Michigan would rack up 8 sacks on the day. 5 by RE John McCollum as he was a thorn on my side all freakin day.

Next up for ND Ohio State after a Bye week.
