Post by Hoos »

I broke out the legendary Tambora for some FFA games. I'm starting a knife throwing fad.

You know what bothers me about all of these videos? Why do your enemies never shoot at you and, if they do, it is always very late? I don't have that problem. If I so much as take a step up a stair, the fucker comes blazing around the corner firing away. So, in order for me to kill him, I have to dodge that shit plus aim at him.

You just walk around like you are shopping at the mall.

Amazing man! I have tried using a sniper gun but I just can't seem to get it down. It's wild how quickly you get them lined up in your sights.Do you line anything in particular up before you bring up the scope?? I would also assume you have steady aim on to be taking dudes out from a few feet away and just jumping down on a guy and pulling the trigger and killin them.Any tips for an aspiring sniper rifle user?Good Shit man!!

Perks:

Slight of Hand
Stopping Power
Steady Aim (no scopes)

I can only explain how I snipe. Both Scrub and Dan are very good snipers and I don't know if their styles are the same as mine or not. You do it so much that it just becomes instinct.

I don't do the traditional sniper thing. I'm not going to lay down and hide somewhere. I get shot more because I make myself more of a target. The flip side is that you get more opportunities to snipe others.

For me, the key is not to be scoped in very often. Don't stay scoped in looking for people because you won't stay steady long. Once you see somebody, then square up to them, scope in, and fire. A lot of people scope in and then line the target up, then make sure the target is lined up, then fire. Just scope in, make a quick adjustment, and fire the second the target is lined up. It doesn't have to be a perfect shot to get the kill. It should only take a second or two to do all that.

Quick scopes is what separates good from great snipers. When you can quick scope, you can go anywhere and snipe any map. This skill is the hardest to get down. If somebody is close, I will hit the scope and pull the trigger when the scope is about 3/4 of the way up. As soon as you pull the trigger, you drop the scope. You miss, you do the same thing again. There is zero aiming in this other than trying to be square to your target.

This is the one that you want to work on in FFAs. Only use the sniper in FFA games no matter what map and don't camp. It's best to fake name it when you're first starting out because you'll get destroyed. When you can win Rust with a sniper, you're there.

No scopes aren't as hard as quick scopes. When somebody gets close, you want to turn your body towards them and raise the gun up a little. While you are raising it up, fire. You gotta do it quick.

That is pretty much how I do it. Work with 1 sniper gun only until you get it down. The Intervention is the best for quick scopes. The 50 cal takes too long to scope so you're better off trying to shotgun people with it.

Exactly. You don't send out your recruiting tape to coaches with clips of you getting lit up by a safety and dropping passes, you find the few good catches that you make and that one time where 2 defenders ran into each other out of screen and you look like you have 4.2 speed to get that open...

It's very simple. And that is what Hoos has done here

Of couse it’s a “best of” video. I’m not going to put myself getting shot up in there. I’m still making those kills tho.

Yes, a lot of people playing FFA are terrible and they help me. :P

If you are looking at it as a recruiting tape, then I noted that Hoos was losing in just about every frame of that video.

This is true, I wasn't playing for the win. Plus, in FFA you just get thrown into games that have already started.

Lol true. I was just comparing it to recruiting tapes. BillRoy was salivating and I just wanted to put it in perspective.

However... and it pains me to say this again... Hoos is probably the best sniper I've seen

i definitely need to get some recording software then. good shit though hoos....need more footage of streaks rather than just 1 or 2 kills at a time.
