Map Pack Verdicts?

Post by LetsGoPeay »

Just give a grade on the map pack overall and some comments on each of the new maps.

Overall, I'd say B-. Only 5 maps kind of sucks but it's nice to have something new. It'll be better when they're mixed into the regular playlist so I can hopefully get less of Underpass.

Individual Comments:
Storm- Too big and too many camping spots. If you have a game with only 8 players it can be impossible to find anyone. Everyone always seems to go to the big factory building in the middle and you still can't find anyone half the time. It always seems to lag at the beginning too.

Salvage- I love this one. It's my favorite of the new maps. Not too big, not too small and there's enough variety in the layouts and landscape that it doesn't become camper or sniper fest.

Bailout- Not a big fan and I'm not sure why. It's just not very appealing. I've only played it 2 or 3 times though and haven't really gotten to know it yet.

Crash- I still love this map. It was one of my favorites on COD4 and it will be on this game too. I've noticed a few very minor changes in it, mostly a wall or small structure added here or a little niche or alcove deepened there. Still a great, great map.

Overgrown- I never really liked this map on COD4 and I'm still pretty ambivelent to it. It's kind of like Bailout. It just doesn't appeal to me.

meh

Grade : C or so. Overall they seem to favor camping.

Storm : its ok. Takes some real teamwork/communication to get around

Salvage: Guys literally are hiding all over waiting for you to run by.

Bailout: I HATED this at 1st, but think in the end it will be the best of the 3 new ones.

Crash: meh...i mean its ok for everything BUT domination as the spawn is STILL whacked as guys get pinned down terribly at "A" flag

Overgrown: overgrown is fine, I dont necessarily feel one way or the other about it. Still think the 2nd map from COD4 should have been broadcast

I mean they are fine. Just nothing really special about them.

I don't like Bailout, but otherwise the maps are good.

My verdict is I'm unlikely to play MW2 ever again so I'm saving money.

Well I've been gone since the 10th of last month and I get back home tonight. Tomorrow I plan on getting in some MW2 when the wife is taking her nap. Here are my questions....

Is it worth my 15 bucks for two months before I leave for Iraq?
Can I play TDM and have these maps in circulation or do I have to play mosh pit?
If I have to play mosh pit right now, when are they allowing us to play a singular style game with these maps in circulation?

Best map pack released was COD4, the stinker was creek ( which hoos loved so that tells you all you need to know)

I love salvage, the rain map is good, not sold on the other. Love crash and overgrown is what it is.
