This could ruin the tournament:

If Spain are not able to win the group and finish 2nd.....

....they would face Brazil in the Round of 16, pending Brazil winning their group.

I like soccer very much.

I cannot deal with the terminology. It is a goddamn "team", not a "side".

We have about 50 sports in this country that use the same words and every ethnicity, group, and gender uses those terms.

i'm like to think i'm very open-minded and i cringe when i hear the terminology from americans

like if you're british, i get it. thats how you talk... call it a 'smart chance', call them 'fit', etc

but if you're american, you can say things like nice shot and playing well and its all the same unless of course you use that other terminology about every athletic event... then i guess i'm cool with it, just be consistent

i dont know, maybe i'm way off on this subject but it bothers me too

That is a more accurate explanation of how I feel. I call it a football field, a shot on goal, a baseball uniform, a hockey penalty, lacrosse practice, and a sports team. Let the foreigners with different regional dialects use the terms which they are comfortable.

Again, these clowns should be banned from hosting anything ... ever again. If they aren't hating and killing blackie then they are annoying everyone with their "traditions." I have traditions in quotes because I have been reading up on these vuvzellas and it is apparently not so frigging traditional. I was young, but I don't remember them at the Summer Games years ago.
"The vuvuzelas are FIFA's biggest World Cup failure in its entire history.

"Mr. Blatter [FIFA President Sepp Blatter] has defended this as a South African tradition. Did vuvuzelas play a big role in their storied soccer league that was formed in 1991? The Zulus may have used the kudu horn, but modern-day South Africans' connection to the vuvuzelas has nothing to do with that. This so-called 'tradition' has more to do with the free market than with a country's custom since in 2001 [a South African company] began to mass produce these nuisances at a cheap price which coincides with their use. This clearly has nothing to do with a country's or continent's cultural identity.

"I want to hear the true African traditional [sounds] like drums, kalimbas, mbira or chants, not the irritating drone of cheaply produced horns that drowns out the emotion of the game and replaces it with unprecedentedly and maddeningly irritating and loud noise. Hell is surely filled with an eternity of vuvuzela dissonance. Thanks, FIFA, for giving us hell."

The one you just posted....wow. That's an early entrant for dive of the tournament  De Rossi is an odd character sometimes. Just glad he didn't get booked, he'd have hurt my fantasy team

You dirty little whore.

That play Dave showed is the EXACT play I was talking about when you flipped the fuck out for me saying it was the flop of the tournament.

So maybe NOW you know why I wouldn't admit why I was wrong, LOLZ.

Yea, I said that originally.

The problem was, I have no question, even though the guy did accidentally catch his foot, he totally played up the fall in a grand way.

His team also had a nice run going at the time.

And finally, the worst part, he was on the ground writhing in pain rolling around for 10 seconds then he gets up and is magically cured and is laughing and walking like nothing ever happened.

No. That was in the 11th minute, and I did not see that one.

There was a foul on him in the 9th minute, that's the one I was defending.

I was talking about a foul in the 9th minute (which is 8:00 to 8:59), which is what I posted the comment from Soccernet's live chat. I think I missed YOUR foul (the one Riccio posted, in the 11th minute) because I was typing

So Shel, I apologize, we were obviously talking about different plays, and both right.

Nick....I'd send you a box full of dog shit, but it would probably cost too much to mail out of country.
