"Forward" is like saying a "defender" in American football--it encompasses a wide range of positions: striker, left/center/right forward, left/right winger. Each plays a different role, for example a striker is expected to score goals and do nothing more, not backtrack on defense, etc.

They use the metric system everywhere outside the US; and we're stupid for not using it, it's a hell of a lot simpler and easier to use.

In the end, I like the game of soccer very much but the structure of the leagues infuriates me. In Trendonland, soccer is played as such.

2. Unbalanced schedules
3. Sudden death OT
4. (Location) - (Nickname) teams
5. No fucking buying of players.
6. Instant replay
7. Terminology symmetry.
