Call me Beefy but oh well.

I pick a c rated team that I like and want to look into keeping for a couple of seasons.
Yeah I suck but I also want to compete with a decent team.

I pick NMSU and by my calculations I see a 4-5 win goal in the season which is possible with me even though I suck.

I go to looking at shit and now it seems I have a 9 win goal
I could pick USC and still not win 9 games with them. Just seems a bit high to me?

I know my conference is full of C teams but man
9 wins for C rated team is a bit much.

And isn't NMSU a C+?

From what I've been told, your win total depends on the rating of other teams you play...there are 5 teams below your rating in your conference so that should give you a 5 team win goal to start with (not sure how they do equal ratings)

So I'm not sure about 9, but I am confused about 3?

I could be way off on this, my sources could have tricked me!

1stly - Mike has not posted that OOC scheduling is open, so the info you may be seeing under win goals or anywhere in that section may be inaccurate.

2ndly - win goals are win goals, no teams win goals are "too high" or "too low". they subjectively are what they are.

3rdly - NMSU is a C+ in a conf full of teams rated less than NMSU. Should we give you credit and say even though your team is rated higher than the team you're playing, we're not going to give you a goal of winning the game because you think your goal is too high.

here is the WAC breakdown

Boise State B- B B-
Fresno State C+ B C
Hawai'i C+ C+ B-
NMSU C+ B C
LA Tech C C+ C+
Nevada C B- C
SJSU C- C C-
Idaho D+ C D+
Utah State D+ D+ C

NMSU is BETTER than 5 teams in that conf.......F-I-V-E

that means no matter what they will START with at least a 5 game win goal. If you wanted a lesser win goal than you should have taken a less talented team like Idaho or Utah State

NMSU is no USC but take a look at the roster and you cant argue that they arent a mile better than Idaho or ut st or sjsu.

4thly - "I could pick USC and still not win 9 games with them" .....having a boise or nmsu in the WAC IS JUST LIKE HAVING USC IN THE PAC as far as conf play goes. your team is better than other so on some level that team has to be expected to contend and thusly have goals proportionate to that.

5thly - to cut down on the argument that "just because my team is better, I should be expected to win all the games"...4 seasons ago we started the "minus one" which i posted about several times. Basically when you figure your win goal, you subtract one, and THAT is your actual win goal.

No offense but with the amount of thought and effort that went into goals, season success etc amd how to make this as good a dynasty online league as possible, I cant fathom anyone looking at the system and complaining about what the win goals are.

Maybe Im too sensitive on the subject.

you can figure it out manually by just getting the grades of the teams on your schedule and if they are rated higher....add 1 to your toal, if they are the same, add .5, if it is less..add nothing.

if you end with a #.5, round down

then subtract 1.

(also when we do OOC scheduling there will be alink for you to click which will do it for you automatically)

I think it is ABSURD to consider anyone UNDER a win goal of 6 to MAKE A BOWL as a CONF GOAL.

I mean lets be reasonable here...if you dont meet your win goal of 5 then you lose out on conf goal and season goal...lets say you are expected to win 3...how can someone expect you to also make a CONF GOAL of BOWL GAME.

I mean the conference goals are something you can reach. I think the conference goals need to be taken a look at again. I mean do you see where Im coming with this.

I just think it is a little absurd to have a lets say O IDK...IOWA. Who might be projected to win...O IDK...3 WINS.

Iowa being in the BIG 10 you would think that making a bowl would fall under bonus points instead of conf goals.They are a C+ team. Now if they were in the wac, it would make sense having to make a bowl game.

second: you can make your win goal and if you do 100% of you recaps voting and everything
you will be able to keep your team and or get a decent draft spot. If I understand it those other points are just extras that are not taken away from you if you dont make thos goals. They just are added to help you out.

Third: I am not with LGF here. I 100% like the system and think it is cool. I just had an issue that I finally found a team i like and want to keep and now I screwed myself because I need to win 9 games (possibly less) when I have not won 9 games in the past 3 seasons.

Last season I was told .5 rounds up but i was use to what you said about them rounding down......SO I got "F"ed in tha "A"

FSU will have a 10 win goal before I even start OCC scheduling so I was wondering

with the rule "No win goal higher than 10" does this apply after all of my scheduling or before because if Before then actually no win goal will be higher than 9 due to the minus 1 rule.

When I play with a team I lower their rating at least a grade for sure
and that is not anyones fault but mine.
