Seems a lot like a patch... Fixing progression, CPU stuff, etc.

So is it out or not, being my main question

Don't think it's out, this is basically what they're looking at to start working on a patch.

OK so these Live Tuning Packages get auto loaded to the game when you boot it up ...read below.
NEW FOR NCAA FOOTBALL 11 -- LIVE TUNING PACKAGES

A number of you have already noticed that we do a check for "Online Gameplay Tuning" when connecting to our online servers. Some of you may also have found a new "Tuning" category in the Files menu. This is a new technology for NCAA Football 11 that allows us to not only live update and tune core gameplay parameters -- like fumbles, throw accuracy, and juke success ratings -- but it also allows us to rebalance certain core features such as recruiting logic, blocking, even control the intensity of shadows cast by the football on a sunny day!

These new Live Tuning Packages (LTPs) contain literally 1000's of key parameters which drive the heart of our game; parameters that live well below the level of specific player or team ratings. With our new LTPs we can often turn changes around in a few days. It can't solve everything, and some issues will still require a traditional client update, but for many items it's definitely a more powerful and faster strategy for tuning throughout the season.

Our first LTP should be arriving next week along with detailed notes on what the update contains. I can tell you that based on the collective feedback we've received, we will be carefully down-tuning the athleticism of defensive lineman and reduce the number of impressive picks by the big guys. We're also looking to address a few important dynasty progression and recruiting issues.
kick ass!

these are quick patches that get put in prior to the "tittle release" which is anticipated in mid to late august. Nice to see they finally implemented a better way to patch the game.

Interesting so they should automatically update already running on and offline dynasties. Very cool.

Yeah the tuning is downloaded in game and not an external PSN download, very cool.

Maybe they'll tune the man defense a bit so 90 speed WRs can actually outrun the 82 speed LB that is matched up with them in coverage.

Yes please.

I feel like cover 2 man is almost becoming cheesy for the guys who run it every single play of the game, except for 2-3 times.

All these underneath routes, ins/outs/slants, they just rarely get open against man, and you obviously will struggle deep against a cover 2 man. I get tired of my own offense, just running and throwing HB and WR screens, lol.

I had to DL it earlier today when I played, so its definitely out now. Its as if youre saving a file, so it only takes but two seconds

I agree 100%, and if it is a man blitz it is either a pick or a sack....

And on the flip side, zone defense can be picked apart like crazy.

This was brought to my attention just this afternoon as well. I resorted to running it a LOT (albeit out of different formations to match up) simply because it was so conservative and just prevented me from giving up 18 yds a pop all game. Didnt realize it was so looked down upon, but Im glad it was pointed out to me

For me, it's not as bad on a blitz, cause I usually always have 1 guy going deep on either a streak, post, or corner, so I can take that 1 on 1 shot and those usually don't get picked off at least, lol.

But without a blitz, it takes away the deep option, but then it seems like half the plays, all of the short options are covered as well. I like the idea that the same money routes aren't open against certain defenses like in last year, but in usual EA fashion, I think they overdid it.

Dude, no biggie. Last year's version, I played man probably 75-80% of the time and blitzed probably 30-40% of the time I played man, so i did play tons of man.

This year, even though it works better, I find myself playing simple cover 2 man much less, because especially with a good team, I feel like it's just too good for the most part.

Maybe there is some "strategy" setting I'm missing.

Is there a setting for WR route running speed? Conservative means you loaf like some spoiled WR from "Tha U" and Aggressive means you blast around the field at full speed like some gutsy little guy from the MAC?
