I use Cover 1 man more than Cover 2, I want someone there to control those slants/drags/HB curls. I have ALWAYS tended to play more man than zone in past games, so this is also tough for me to make sure I'm not 'abusing'. I try to mix it up with some zone once in a while, but I use all kinds of man coverages--corner blitzes, cover two/one, double teams, single-coverage blitzes, etc. It's all about mixing it up and not using the same plays in the same situations. Man can still be beaten, it's just tougher to do this year. And that's how it SHOULD be; zones don't work that well in college for the most part, and they get picked apart on the game now like they should have been in the past; guys no longer instantly know someone is behind them in their zone.

I am giving up 292 yards per game passing and ranked overall 111th. That is exactly why guys run man. It is still beatable, but you definitely have to avoid 3rd and long situations. Good cornerbacks will eat the offense up.

Well hell that is why I can't stop a cold. My DB's are some of the worse in the game. none over the speed of 89 and the ratings are horrible. I have some LB's faster than my CB's. It is hard to go man in that situation.

 zone in college doesn't work? That's what 99% of football teams predominantly run. Alabama is probably the only exception because their defense is so athletic. Man is easier to beat in real life (for the most part) which is why it's strange to see it used so often, as most teams play zone defenses for the majority of the game.

I'm saying zones don't work as well in college as they have done on the GAME in recent years; where LBs make 10 foot jumps to knock down passes, and guys immediately stop covering someone in front of them because a guy came into their zone behind them. Yeah, they work, but they don't work THAT well in college, not to the level that the game has had them working.

For some reason, they always seem to work "extra" well against you.
.
It's all about timing. Last year I had it down to a science. This year the timing still is something I'm trying to figure out.

But basically, if you see a blitz or a WR in single coverage on a streak, and you'll see right in the 1st 5 yards, the WR gets outside position. You wanna throw one up to him with precision up and towards the sideline, basically at a diagonal, so he's catching over his outside shoulder, away from the DB. You need to put some loft on it to get it over the DB, and typically you wanna throw it pretty quickly, loft it, and you want your WR to usually catch it around 25-30 yards downfield, though you can go deeper.

Zone is worthless and man is to good, no in between on AA or this version really.

Ive found its more about trying to outsmart your opponent and let them think you are going man but its a huge zone blitz and vice versa.

But like I warned before, the stuff that beats man is all the shit people used to complain about in the past so be prepared if you are running man all game for a dose of the same things that consistently beat it.

It may just be my team, but I find that zone works really well.

Not as good as man, but it definitely works well for me.
