NDL: ESPN

Post by Uuaww »

No secret that I ran out of time to really give this the time and effort it deserves. I won't be able to run it but will continue to hopefully write from time to time. See Holmey if you are interested in heading it so he can give you access and whatnot.

Damm! I was going to buy you the book titled, "How to Manage Your Time Effectively In the Middle of a Devastating Hurricane, and Other Helpful Disaster Tips," but apparently, no one has written it.

I am willing to help out again, but only if enough guys will actually be able to make a commitment and stick with it. It's amazing how many guys so they'll help and then 2 weeks later it's down to the same 2 or 3 guys writing.

I'd be interested to help out in some capacity if you guys have room.

I'm not much of a journalist/have no reporting skills , but I see NDL: ESPN as fun and maybe I can be a fit. If not, no biggie

Man this is something I really was hoping would love to keep going. I don't know the first thing about web design but if it's something easy, and you can give me a simple direction from a thorough chat on AIM or something, maybe I can help out in a bigger capacity. I DO wanna keep writing. Maybe since there aren't as many writers we can lessen the amount of articles or maybe consolidate some (i.e. Game of the Week(s) of every block of 2 weeks instead of every week).

Let's not give up on this yet. It truly was a defining moment in this league's history when NDL2 launched and I'd hate to see it die so quick.

Holmey can teach you everything if you want to spearhead it Untouchable. It really isn't hard posting on the site. The only articles I couldn't do was 6fts you tube.

To limit guys concerns about needing to know web design, its a simple BBCODE post that you make, and the design is done for you. It is very similar to the messageboard to post articles.

I wanna say yes, but I also don't wanna fall behind either. Is there anybody else willing enough to co-captain it with me??

i can help. At times i have tons of free time. On occassion I won't though. I am in the process of remodeling a home, have a kid on the way....and of course work, etc.

I am confident to say I can no doubt help out, and wouldn't have a problem posting articles or whatever else is needed. I think this needs to continue. Maybe if there are 3-4 guys that can be counted on to do the weekly stuff (game of the week) and the rest of the guys that want to help out can do as they can. I know time constraints can make it tough week in and week out, but I would hope that if someone says they can help that they can at least let people know if they can't finish out the season.

I'm the same way. There are days at work where I have all the free time in the world to post/write articles and then there are days where I'm busy. I know weekends in October have got me pretty busy (TX/OU first weekend, ACL and Cowboys/Titans game second, trip to Lincoln for TX/Nebraska the third) but during the week I should be able to find some time.

I say if Holmey can teach me the basics, let's do this.

Let's do this regardless. Maybe we can have 2 guys that are able to do this, so if one is busy the other can take over. This isn't what makes the league, but it definitely adds to it. I am willing to help Untouchable. If you wanna do it as a co-helper thing we can, or if you want me to help only as needed I am okay with that. We just need to pick this back up. I wasn't able to help last season, but can now.

I'm game. If posting game recaps from LD is really just a few clicks, I'm down as long as people are actually writing some. I liked reading the game recaps from the NDL2 page and actually preferred over scrolling through LD. Let's get a list of writers going and once we got that let's see what articles we can salvage. I'd rather have less topic articles covered on a weekly basis than too many and people slack off towards the end of the season.

Some obvious ones we should keep:
GOTW
Upset Alert
Heisman Watch
Pick 6
Bottom 10

And of course we'll continue to post conference-commish articles. I think with at least these we should have a good flow of articles. What do you guys think?

I would say on GOTW and upset alert....to try and get different people to do them at first. I know I did a GOTW and upset alert each week. It was tough to do because you really have to do them right before the new week opens to be current. Then as people quit and slack, ask if who is remaining want to pick up diff't parts. It would look better to keep the articles fewer than to have to drop as the season goes because people are quitting.

This season looked to be the best start....then suddenly nothing. I didn't really know what the issue was but it was disappointing because I know how much people like reading it, including myself.

Hell I'll take on Game of the Week to begin with...really liked doing it last season. But let's see who we got coming back first, or if anybody new wants to contribute.

luckily I had the option of keeping Tulane even though I went 0-12. Yes it is true, I got a zero score for the 20 part of the 20-40-40.

Back to ESPN, I will help and can write, I just can't run it. Also hurricane season is coming to a close so I should have more time to write.
