More important: PC or PB

Playcalling or playbook? Which is more important to offensive production? I say it is playcalling. Sometimes I'm in the zone and can move the ball but if I'm not feeling it I'm searching for the right plays and it never works out.

playbooks are all pretty much the exact same, at least the plays are

When you find a book you are so comfortable with that you know a play 2 plays before you actually call it in case you get to 3rd down, that is really big.

But any good player can play with any book Im thinking but it would supply a level of anxiety with not knowing the exact spots and what plays.

I memorized the ECU PB from like 2007-2009 before changing to the one back this version before changing to whatever one I pick for this season.

This would be my list. I think playcalling and playbook are both very important. Whenever anyone asks me for any kind of advice, I say get comfortable with a playbook first and foremost. Team is obviously important, but unless the teams are on different ends of the map (Alabama and Western Kentucky), then I think the talent levels can be overcome in a lot of instances. Stick skills are important to get to the top 10 in the league, but my user control skills are below par and I still can hang in most games.

Knowing what plays to call in certain situations and based on what the opt is giving you will allow even the worse stick skill guys stay in games with even teams.

Playbook and team go hand and hand, unless heavily out matched like husker said. It is always nice to have a pb that matches the strength of your team. And knowing that pb well is really key in those pressure moments in a close game instead of being loss when looking for that play you want to run and cant find it.

Stick Skills just separate the great player from good, because really very few of us in this league can say they have great stick skills.. Sure some of us have our moments.. But imo it really only separates the great player from the good player.

As mentioned most of the playbooks are similar so selecting the "right" one is blown up way more than it should be. I don't think selecting this playbook or that playbook matters much at all, it's all in your head.

I also rank play calling over stick skills cause you have to call the right play to put your player in position to show off your stick skills.

anyone who has stick skillz low doesnt play mike or talented regularly. someone with top notch stick skills will beat me 99% of the time no matter how well i call plays

its defeating to set someone up mentally and have them burned but yet have them somehow user pick an impossible ball

even if it happens once in the game it can totally swing the momentum

if u give mike or hognasty a team mid-tier team, they will beat 90% of coaches with better teams on stick skills whereas you give someone like me, nasty, riccio, hoos, packsy or aj that mid-tier team, we'll be around 60% against same teams...even if we call a better game, the play calling wont overcome like stick skillz will

One thing it seems on this years version is that if you get pressure on the qb you can shut the passing game down. Without pressure it is a long day.

Yeah he makes it nearly impossible. It can be 3rd and 20 and he will user catch it for a first down about 80% of the time. I just gotta figure out how to stop that
