Also do most of you realize just how many slants most teams that pass a good bit run in just one game? I won't pretend to know the number but I lost count in the 30's on 3 different games I watched last Saturday.
 The games I watch in college run slants maybe 6-8 times a game.
XII: Fresno State 12-1 (8-0)
XIII: South Carolina 11-2 (7-1)
XIV: Bowling Green 13-1 (9-0)
XV: Georgia 14-0 (9-0)
XVI: Miami-FL 12-2 (8-1)
XVII: Miami-FL 10-3 (6-3)
XVIII: Miami-FL 13-1 (8-1)
XIX: Southern Cal 12-1 (9-0)
XX: Southern Cal 13-0 (9-0)

Arkansas runs at least one on most pass plays, Texas Tech, Baylor. It is a staple route on most offenses. I am sure there are more, but I have not watched every team play.

Yea, Either the slant or that shallow crossing route. Not quite a drag, not quite a slant, Arkansas runs that play contantly.

In fact, I'd say, I've seen a lot of teams running that exact more than every lately. And it's so damn hard to stop. And then i think, I've NEVER seen LSU complete that route this year. Our poor, poor passing game.

trust me shel i know. the first year with rich rod when we had threet and sheridan(think i just puked a little). our passing routes were screen, hb flat, wheel, streak. it was sickening to watch. i would beg for a slant, an in, a drag, curl, anything but to no avail

Im not using the strategy if my opp. don't..but if I play someone that throws the ball 50 times and runs it 5 or vice versa they will get docked in the offensive, knows the rules, and coaching realism sections of the coaching reports. Its not realistic, and like reign said its not fun.
There is too many pattern combo's that are unstoppable on AA (or Heisman to) so to set there and throw the ball 96% of their plays is:

A: Not mixing up or using your playbook to the best of your ability
B: Not Realistic, even the most pass happy team ever, runs the ball to keep the D honest
C: Taking advantage of a shitty game and its AI flaws
D: And not using moderation

That is 4 things that are against the NDL rules.
I would like to set back and throw the ball 50 times a game...but its a video game with AI flaws and terrible pass defense, just cause something is easy you don't have to take advantage of it 95% of the game.

Bout time to lock this one up.

Reading through this thread, it's just kind of disheartening that people seem to take this GAME so seriously and nitpick wayy too much, IMO. :?
