Possible Fix............
Possible Fix............
Some success per these people on the official boards
Ok, follow link and follow steps, this is not a 100% guarantee but it will help. Just beware this WILL ERASE SINGLE PLAYER PROGRESS but will not effect anything on multiplayer.
In the XMB delete your game save data and game data utility for Black Ops, all of your online stats will still be there, you will lose single player stats though, I decided to check this and found that the patch actually loaded into game save data and not where it should have in GAME DATA UTILITY…After deleting and redownloading everything works like it should!!!!
Steps to do this:
1. in the XMB under games where you would click on the disk to load black ops scroll up to where it says saved data utility.
2. delete this data, what will happen is you will lose all of your campaign progress and on your custom classes you will lose whatever you have named them but all of your classes will be the same and no online progress will be lost. just rename them
3. scroll up a little more to game data utility and click it and delete the black ops data, you will NOT lose any online progress.
4. now go reload the game up and it will require you to redownload the patch and you should be up and running.

Re: Possible Fix............
agree, Hoos said there was a hot fix last night so I havent checked to see if it did fix anything, but we did have to rig MW2 for a few weeks the same way ( nothing like the month plus for blops) to get in to each others parties.

thanks biffy,
but with all due respect
I am not doing all that....
I paid $60 for this shit, they need to wwork out the simplest thing. Its not like online shooters have just hit the gaming scene.

Its almost as bad as Hoos fix of deleting all my friends and starting a new name or something.
Is a "hot fix" the same as a "hot mess"?

Re: Possible Fix............
i said this weeks ago.
when i was having problems before, it was fucking up my ps3 so bad i had to delete all my files in my ps3 (i actually had to reset the whole ps3 back to original). when i started it over my online progress was all saved but i had to recollaborate and all that stuff as if i just started playing the game. since then the game has worked fine for me.
i have no idea if its coincidence, but i had more problems connecting to rooms/games then just about anyone and i have none now.

Re: Possible Fix............
Update:
I played 3 wager matches and 3 TDM, No connection interrupted, 1 lobby close and 1 soft freeze ( got hung up in the "waiting for team to join" but able to quit). Smoothest I have run yet ( dont mean game play wise, that was a tad laggy due to foreign players_

Re: Possible Fix............
This "fix" seems to be growing legs on the board. More people saying it works than not. In the hour I played it did work. I suggest giving it a try.

I had much better luck today than I have in the past, definitely worth the few seconds it takes to delete and redownload.
