FYI - one bad report doesnt "kill" your scores


NO ONE gave ANYONE all zeros...it didnt happen.

let not use the "one guy killed me" and thats why my scores arent great

couple things :
1. like i said, no one gave all zeros.
2. just because someone put "coolest guy ever", dont assume they gave you all 5's
3. If a person did what i just said above and was giving 1's and 2's...they were warned (several people)
4. im sick, donewith my little list

Personally, I have taken a complete about face and have become brutal on coaching reports.

I am confused by your logic here!

It is simple. I used to let everything slide but now I penalize people for the simplest things.

I have to start sending out the PM's to all my opponent's again letting them know that I don't pull ANY punches. I think most everyone appreciated it but I remember one guy (forget who) snapping at me with a "who the hell do you think you are?" comment and I stopped doing it.

i dont like getting involved in coaching report arguments cause most of them are silly. but:

-- you shouldn't grade based on how YOU think the game should be played. you should grade on how the league thinks the game should be played.

for example. if you dislike playaction and think it should never be used. you can't (well you can, but you shouldn't be imo)dock a guy cause he uses it. the league says it can be used in moderation and in realistic situations. there are guys that will dock a guy if they even use it once because that particular person feels its cheese. thats counter-productive.

either way... even with all the bitching, moaning and groaning... thru 12 reports you should get a big enough representation to get a fair and accurate assessment of your gameplay.

This is my point to you Trendon. You shouldn't be hard on coaching reports just to be a jerk about it.
Grade your opponent the way they should be graded. As Dave mentioned, if someone uses play-action, you shouldn't be dinging someone because they use it only a couple times. In moderation is allowed by the league.

I am not complaining about my scores. I understand that 1 guy will not ruin your scores....

What I am complaining about is if a guy says great coach and great game but doesn't give me all 5's, I deserve to know why.
Why am I a great coach or why was it a great game if you do not reflect that in my coaching scores?

I feel that if you are not going to give a guy 5's, he deserves to know why. I am sure there is a game or two where I gave a 4 instead of a 5 in a category and I promise next season to give full, good reasons why I am not rating them a 5.

Yeah..... thats pretty much every NCAA game ever.... Every game has the 4 or 5 play types that work and that's what a majority of people lean on for that game.

All the while he never says a single thing to you before, during, or after the game...I dont understand that at all.....This doesnt help at all..

I can just plan on getting docked by the same person again..instead of changing the way I beat his ass and making him happy or giving him something different to complain about. If you want people to play different have the balls to say something to them before(if you think you have had an issue with them in the past), during(if you see something happening while you play) or after if it doesnt dawn on you till then...dont just be a bitch on the reports..Its not helpful.

You just gotta laugh about it man. You can't let sore losers piss you off over coaching reports. You can tell by your entire grade whether or not you need to make changes to your gameplay. If you have that one guy that puts a bunch of nonsense on your report because he can't handle losing, you just gotta laugh about it. There are immature people out there and I'm sure things will change in the long run. Just don't let that crap get to you. You play straight, and when you win you won't always please everyone. It's sad, but true.

next season im going lazy. IM gonna record every game I play and simply post it so you guys can see every play I run, how much time between plays I kill in the playclock screen while im watching porn at the same time, everything.

Its just a game guys. No one is going to have ".800 winning percentage in the NDL" on his gravestone. At the end of the day I dont define myself based on what these coaches reports say. I hope everyone feels the same way.

I dont have a problem if Trendon want to give me low grades even if I may not deserve them. I mean, its Trendon. I would be more dissapointed if he let me off easy. You kinda have to know what you are getting into when you schedule him. I know DRiccio's report will have all smiley faces and Hoos is going to have a reference to kittens.

Also, You are never going to be able to get everyone rating on the same scale because "fairness" is largely subjective.

And I know how to mix it up. The one time I did play you in a cup game, it was my first game with Oregon State and you opened my eyes to running the ball with J. Rodgers. You told me to stop calling and inside run and bouncing it outside...which, at the time, I didn't even realize I was doing. But because you took the time to say something, I changed it.
And I made sure not to do it during the rest of the season.

That is my point to all of this.
If someone is doing something you don't agree with, change it while it is happening.

Don't wait till the coaching report to tell me about it.

That is all I meant by my points in my arguments.
Grade your opponent fairly. Grad ethem based on how they played, not how you think they should. As Dave mentioned, based on what the rules are, not what you feel they should be.

I get what you are saying and it is fair but I am not doing it just to be a jerk. When you play me you are almost assured of getting a three or less in offensive variety unless you do something to really entertain me. I also slaughter people in REALISM for declining penalties, fair catching punts needlessly, punting line drives, or never motioning anyone. I favor guys who manually blitz, throw bombs, run some razzle dazzle, fake punts, kick onsides, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, don't put the kid gloves on when it is 28-3 late in the game. In my eyes, if the next score won't put you over 35, play the fucking game. Nole did it to me this season and I was absolutely furious. I IM'ed him and told him I understood why but if he ever did it again, I am blindly giving him zero's in every category. We all tout the game as "just for fun" and to "do everything in moderation" and, in my eyes, I see NONE of that.

And, thus, I grade accordingly.

It is why I am not complaining about a few of the bad comments I received. I understand why. My circus act might not be for everyone. I don't feel like I played the game if I don't do something amusing on special teams, throw 10 bombs, run some Wildcat, have guys shifting spots, and blitz like mad (especially since nobody throws deep so why the fuck would I bother with safeties playing deep third?!). And I lose so often that when I have a big lead, well lol, I am not stopping. I will pile it on until I get to the 35-point danger zone.

That's how I am and I like to think I am honest about it. When you play Trendon, be prepared for a mess of a game and some interesting coaching reports both ways. Like I said earlier, I will be sending out my preseason PM's again. If someone doesn't like the way I play, that is fine ... I just feel bad if it caught them by surprise. I don't cheat, I follow the rules, I just push them to the limit!

Dude, if I didn't know any better, I would have thought he thought he was playing his daughter. I was cursing him to high heaven in my living room. At no point in the game did he even try.

I completely respect you for all of that Trendon. I understand what you are saying, completely. And I do understand, after you explained it to me, why you grade the way you do.

And I understand that you want people to completely mix it up and throw in a little of everything. I respect that. I do.
And now knowing that you are being honest in your reports, that is all I am asking others to do.

I just know that some guys are filling out their reports while they are pissed off or whatever and it is causing them to fill them out differently.
