It hasn't been an advantage for the past few weeks. It's made the game choppy a lot of times for the host. There hasn't been an official acknowledgment from Treyach but there is a lot of speculation that they put in something to try to negate the host advantage. Whatever it is, it's terrible to host.

You guys realize that hosting gives you an advantage, right? I'll be host and just watch my ridiculous numbers.

In most games that's the case, but in Black Ops when I'm the host I usually suffer some pretty bad lag.

+1, How can you tell your the host on Blops? I know the other day I was playing bad and couldnt figure out why and Hoos told me I was the host. I was so far behind in shots it was sad.

Other than catching who is the host at the beginning you really have to deduce who it is. The host stays a constant full bars. All the other players will fluctuate throughout the game. Usually, after checking it a few times you will have it narrowed down to who it is.

The other problem is that the host doesn't seem to switch. If you stay in the lobby then the same person gets pegged as the host over and over.
