Somebody stopped LeBron after the game and said, "Hey, Mr. James." He replied, "Oh no, it's just LeBron. I don't have any titles."

I have thought about this more and read a good article in the LA Times today by a writer is a Lebron hater, but supported him in his article today. Outside of the Little dance thing they did when the three of them were together some of the criticism they brought on themselves. However I was reading an article somewhere yesterday saying how the Heat were on Sports Center every night beating their chests etc. Not they weren't the media made them into the monster they were to America and it made people hate them. Then later in the article the author wrote how Lebron has not only proved he is a loser on the court but off it as well really infuriated me because that is far from the truth.

I rooted for Dallas because I wanted to see some veterans win some rings but at the end of the day these guys are young. MJ won his first title when he was 28 years old. Could have possibly won one when he was 26 in 89 but instead of being a team player against Detroit he ball hogged at the end of the game and went 0-9 down the stretch. Lebron will be back and will eventually win, it will be interesting to see how he handles himself when he does win. My guess, with a ton of class and his head held high.

take away the t in Not and add a comma after weren't and you'll understand

and he's dead on... its the point i've been trying to make for the entire season pretty much put into a lot less words.

I really have to stop posting from my phone at work when I am in a hurry....lol thats terrible.

I was saying they didn't ask to be the headliner on sports center every night, they are put in the spot light all year, because people hope they fail. Then when they do, it gives media outlets a better story to jump them and slam Lebron, and its not even warranted. In fact its sad that when the game was over you don't read the great accomplishment of the Mavs, and instead all you hear about is Lebron this and Lebron that, you end up forgetting what team they even lost to in the finals at times.

this is how the world works tho.

we are pawns to whatever they want us to think. but then you get people who say 'they don't have bias'. It's freaking impossible to not have bias... they are putting thoughts into your head every second of the day with the way they present the news to you. then with the social media buzz you get that multiplied by a billion and then it snowballs. your gf or the guy who barely follows basketball hears you say that LeBron is a prick and she hears it on TV and then she thinks it must be true and repeats it and then you can't stop the snowball and then a year after being loved, LeBron is the 2nd most hated athlete in the world because he went on TV and changed teams in a bad way and said his team would win games. Think about it, thats what he did and now he's the 2nd most hated athlete alive

is some of it warranted... of course, he's completely out of touch with reality. but its a tv show, meant to sell advertisements. making a bad guy/evil team makes the story more interesting and gets the highest ratings possible and sells more advertisements. or if you're a columnist like Wojo, you make a career feeding into the frenzy writing slam articles.

I garee with what you said. My girlfriend and family have always said one thing I am good at is I always look at both sides of any argument, story, etc. Thats what happened to me reading this article this morning. I never looked at it from the Lebron side. I mean the decision was all donated to the Boys & Girls Club of America, what a horrific thing to do. Should it have been held in Cleveland and maybe letting Gilbert know before hand? Sure. But this guy has stayed out of trouble off the court, wants a title and saw Cleveland couldn't offer that to him, and did what he thought was best for his future.

At the end of the day Lebron is just another guy playing a sport he loves at the highest level. The way he performed in the finals (poorly) is not a reflection of him as a human, which many people seem to think is and its really a shame, cause I am sure hes a helluva good guy outside of hoops.

im not in this thread/argument/conversation, but you dont really think that people think Lebron is an a-hole because he played poorly do you?

you think he really did the "Decision" for charity? guy has 500 mill.....he could have just gave the money.

I could care less if he did the decision, or the party at the arena with the 3 of them a week later, i really dont care. But lets not pretend a huge part of it wasn't ego.

finally, if guys in here cant call him a dick because they dont "know" him as a person, the flip is also true, you also cant say he is a "helluva good guy outside of hoops"

I don't buy the whole 'they didn't ask to be the headline on Sportscenter' stuff.

They took that spot when they formed the big 3. All 3 of them knew exactly what they were doing when they came together and knew exactly what was going to happen throughout the season, in terms of media coverage. That is the price of fame.

I think I laid it out pretty clear in an earlier post, talking about how James' words and actions don't always line up. I'm sure he meant good when he did "The Decision," I'm sure he thought it was great to hype the fans they way he did at the party. But the fact is, when you say you're going to bring a title to your hometown, those hometown fans are going to hold you to that. When you say you're going to win 7-8 championships, the fans are going to hold you to that.

Let me throw this scenario back at you...
...the cap gets tightened before the start of next season and Miami Heat get locked into a position where they can't put any other pieces around the big 3. Not only that, Miller/Haslem move on to better contracts and their replacements are fairly inadequate. The Heat lose in the 1st round of the playoffs for the next 2 seasons. After the 3rd season, Lebron bolts to go to Chicago to team with Derrick Rose, who has already won a title, to create the best (ok, reaching with Rose, so chill Dave  ) 1-2 punch in the game, surrounded by tons of talent. Now what?

I tend to compare his words about bring a title to Cleveland, to his words about winning multiple titles in Miami. He left Cleveland before the job was done. He's 0/1 in Miami. Sooner or later, you've got to put up or shut up. I just think people are a little tired of hearing him talk and they want to see the action. It isn't that he doesn't have the tools, it's that he's not using them to dominate.

Actually by reading through this thread and other things I have read, I would say it isn't a stretch in saying people think he is a loser off the court cause he was in the finals.

all i care about is consistency.

alot of athletes have that ego, alot say and do stupid shit (see Jason Terry, Deshawn Stevenson). nobody gets crushed like LeBron... has he really brought that onto himself or is it the fact he's a mega star and its a good story for the media.

also, i'm not saying LeBron is a good dude or a bad dude, not saying he isn't an egomaniac (of course he is) or that he doesn't deserve to get ripped for saying they were going to win 5,6,7 rings... he does. just not NEARLY as bad as he gets it. he shouldn't be the 2nd most hated athlete in the world for what he's done.

i don't get your point. if he did it legally within the rights of contract i'd be fine with it and i'd still love him in Chicago (but i wouldn't be a Bulls fan, i wasn't a Cavs fan either). If he hijacked his team and told them he wasn't going to play or sit out or something unless they traded him then i'd call him a complete douche, but he doesn't/hasn't ever done that.

LeBron (and any other player) doesn't owe shit to me, if he's doing it legally and fairly he should make whatever decisions he wants that help him sleep at night.

Yeah he should have, but no he wanted it that way and you can sugarcoat it all you want but it was still a tasteless thing to do.

What did he do so poorly??? He fucking kept them in the game! If you can't blame the team as a whole then the blame only goes to one person, Wade.

I heard on the radio this morning that the owners are trying to get a hard cap installed for next year around $45M with a 25% roll back of contracts. How the hell are these teams going to make it?

Bulls - $64M
Lakers - $93M
Miami - $66M ($47.5M in the 3)
NY - $60M
Orlando - $76M
SA - $75M

They where talking about how if the owners get anywhere near what they want, the Heat are going to be in an even tougher spot to fill out a roster for next year, which led to speculation that they may need to trade Bosh.
