Outsiders Take on NDL Vegas

So I have had to do a lot of explaining lately on this Vegas trip.

I had to request the time off from work and my boss goes, "have fun with your wife in Vegas, enjoy!" I tell her its a guys trip with about 12 of us in 2 adjoining suites. I think she changed her view of "Work Corey" instantly and should be getting fired soon.

Saw my mom this weekend and she was like when is your next vacation (wife next to me), I go "guys trip to Vegas for about 4 days, about 12 of us or so". Looks directly at my wife with this stare like "are you f'n crazy???"

Was talking to my sister on the phone today about the Canes game as she is a big fan as well and said what is this Vegas countdown thing you got going on? When do you and Cathy leave??? I tell her its a guys trip, yada yada yada. "She goes, you are lying. You dont have 12 friends. Are you going to the Bunny Ranch or something???"

From now on I just tell people the craziest way to break it to them to get a reaction. The next one will be a nudist colony field trip with 15 guys to Vegas.

HAHA, I try to explain the NDL to people sometimes and the reaction is either "awesome", "you're fucking crazy", or "you're such a dork" The later being the most common.

See, in LA, going to Vegas with random people is so common, no one even asks.

I'm going to Vegas twice this fall one is with people from work and the other is with "guys I know from football."

Not an eyelash batted with that explanation.

It is amazing how every event is scheduled for the same weekend each year, and this year, I have to go to two parties on Saturday night with the wife. Because of the close friends we have, it is the wives' birthday, and they are married to two of my best friends. So it looks like I will meet up with you guys possibly Thursday, definitely Friday, and definitely Saturday morning.

I told my wife I am attending the annual NDL convention this year, and she is like, your a dork. But she has met Plasma1896, and his wife, so it helps out that Plasma is coming to town. She likes his wife and him, so she is like, have fun. However, since her birthday is on 26th, she wants me to spend the week with her. So, I was like, I am hanging out with guys from college in California, where I went for a semester and summer, and from my boys in Orlando, Florida, where I used to live. It does not sound like I met most of the guys in an online league. My wife just thinks it is stupid to hang out with guys from a video game... , and I cannot imagine what my friends and co-workers would think.... But, I have had some great times. See you guys on Thursday!

So excited to hang with all of you but when Pino made the trip my level went to 15 outta 10 excitement.

I call the Ndl a "fantasy football" league where I met some fellas and we have met each other before.
