Boise St is the highest rated 1 Loss team? Not to knock Nole and his great season, but I'm scratching my head on this one.
If the season were to end today, Boise would sit ahead of MSU & UCONN; two 1 loss Conference Champs from BCS conferences...
I don't see a scenario in real life where that would ever be possible #imo
I have not looked yet, but Boise's SOS may have been better.
Again, I have not looked, just my first thought.
Although, Massey does not take SOS into account, does it? I thought I just read someone posting that it does not.
we've had this happen several times before
keep in mind the final/public vote will change at seasons end with more coaches using the whole schedule and etc
in the grand scheme it doesnt matter who guys vot 4,5,6,7 and etc in the weekly voting since there's really no weight behind it. but when we do final poll, most often, a bcs team with a like SOS or greater, will end up ahead of a boise or non-aq team
if the non-aq school has a stronger SOS than all the other bcs schools then it gets close
for example...if VT ends up losing 1 and its out of all the 1 loss teams...even though they are from a bcs school, if they have the 66th ranked schedule on SOS, like the currently do, and a team like boise has the 33rd ranked SOS, alot of votes will put 1 loss boise ahead of 1 loss vt...which there is no right or wrong answer but boise is 100% qualified to be in that debate
conversely, between uconn, which projects a higher final sos ranking, than boise, the nod will 99% of the time goto uconn, the bcs team
